My favorite scene in the entire movie is when... Spoiler Mike comes over with a huge grin on his face and he won't say what he's happy about, then it cuts to him in the basement and he says he won like $50 on a scratch off ticket. I lost my shit.
That one and Spoiler When Mike was talking about voodoo and the cross being unnatural and Mark said "You think when jesus was hanging there, he thought it looked natural?"
"Cause I swear to God I'll donate that money to the fuckin' whales." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKzmZP3oqSM
American Movie is one of the reasons I love my wife. When we first met in college and were hanging out alone at her house for the first time, she put American Movie on. At the time I had not seen it, but after it was over I knew I was in love. Sappy I know, but true story.
Spoiler Really struggled not losing it when the coach told Money some random guy was going to cover his college tuition. Just about lost it when the coach was talking to OC after the playoff game. Fuckin a. I really hope OC is doing well with whatever he's doing, but I'm scared to look him up incase he's turned into a fuck up. What killed me was the naive innocence some of these kids have. Even that shithead Chavis.
I struggled during all of those scenes. Open this spoiler if you want to know about OC Spoiler transferred to Austin Peay State
Call me naive ... But they didn't know. The doc played that part for a second and at just the right time. If it were to have been a real theme in the movie, it would have been all they talked about the last hour Regardless, terrific documentary Also, although I don't think I gave anything away, how do you spoiler?!???11RTMFR
[ spoiler ] [ / spoiler ] no spaces, though. Spoiler I've watched it 2 times, and I'm still not 100% sure what I think happens. I definitely think the brother had some part in it. He at least knows a little more than he's putting on.
Just got done watching, "Freakanomics." Not great, not terrible. I would imagine the book is better. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1152822/
No clue but it is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Probably even better if I was super ripped.
Filmed over nearly three years, WASTE LAND follows renowned artist Vik Muniz as he journeys from his home base in Brooklyn to his native Brazil and the world's largest garbage dump, Jardim Gramacho, located on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. There he photographs an eclectic band of “catadores”—self-designated pickers of recyclable materials. That's from the website. He takes trash from the dump and turns it into the pictures he took of the people
Do You Believe in Miracles should be on your to-watch list. Since I know your a puck fan. Probably my favorite HBO Sports documentary. Highly underrated.
currently watching art of flight *cool aerial shots/snowboarding* me: "man itd be the life to be a snowboarder just traveling around to all these places" *then guy busts his lip open, breaks jaw, concussion, etc in hospital, spitting blood in slow motion* me thinking: "man i dont know if id wanna do that" 2 mins later, more cool aerial shots and snowboarding me: "man thatd be the life just snowboarding in all these cool places"
I'm sure we've all watched Queen of Versailles by now. If you haven't, do it. The daughter died this week http://www.people.com/article/queen-of-versailles-jackie-siegel-statement-daughter-victoria-death
Watched the Kurt Cobain doc last weekend, next on my list Also Danny Clinch is doing a Shannon Hoon doc
I enjoyed the Bob Weir doc. Wasn't mind-blowing, but offers good context. Also would recommend the Dock Ellis documentary on Netflix. Really good.
Tragic stuff but not too surprising with the complete lack of any meaningful relationship between the parents and children. http://pagesix.com/2015/06/10/queen-of-versailles-mom-uses-daughters-memorial-as-photo-op/
I've seen like 82 mob documentaries, making of the mob on amc seems pretty well done though. Might watch the Hendrix documentary on Netflix later.
Same. I watched the first episode. Thought it was p good. Kind of knew everything about those guys though.
The stuff about heroin is the only thing I learned. Hopefully they get into new guys, seen the Lucky crew taking down Masseria and Maranzano story so many times.
Watched Mission Blue. It's on Netflix instant. Pretty sobering watch. Sylvia Earle was a fox in her day, though.
Been a longtime since I've seen it. Was very surprised by how much I liked it. Let me know your thoughts.
Welp. Thanks for that you dick. I hadn't cried in probably 3-5 years and broke that streak tonight. Loved Blind Melon, always thought Shannon Hoon was a dick for ripping me off from getting to listen to more great music. Absolutely sucked. Great doc though. Somehow had never seen it until now.
