Anyone else seen Adam Curtis' Bitter Lake? One of my recent favorites... It covers a lot...but mostly the beginnings of the US/Saudi relationship, continually botched foreign policy in the middle east, and spread of wahhabism. He has a very different style, so don't be too put off by the weirdness of the trailer. Had me hooked.

Kind of hard to tell which way is up with that one, but it's about that former Russian FSB/KGB dude who was supposedly poisoned by polonium in London after becoming an outspoken critic of the FSB and the Putin cabal. Interesting, if nothing else. Certainly paints Putin and his ilk as total pieces of shit...
I took an 'Espionage In History' class during college. Fascinating class overall. We spent probably 1/3 of the class on WW2 alone. Just some incredible shit going on behind the scenes between intelligence communities most people really don't know. Excited to watch this doc.

If you haven't seen the Cosmos TV documentary series, you should. Ran through most of them while popping vicodin after surgery and watched in awe. Neil Degrasse narrates it all. Surprised to see that Seth MacFarlane was a producer as well. I remember being really excited before it came out, but I think I just completely forgot about it until recently. Prescription Thugs is finally out n PTP. Creator of Bigger Stronger Faster. Its not as snappy and hard hitting as BSF. He makes it more personal. But nonetheless insightful. Its tough watching his family interviews.

I watched that a number of months ago. I really didn't feel bad for any of the girls. Mainly because they had this distorted view of what their future would be like. That industry turns girls in and out quickly.
HBO's James Foley doc is pretty good. Also just watched the whitey bulger thing on Netflix. Still haven't seen the Depp movie, will be curious to see how it jives with the doc.
The Newburgh Sting Another HBO doc. This one focuses on the story of the supposed homegrown terrorists that were busted in Riverview NY before allegedly blowing up a temple and/or firing stingers at... planes at a national guard base.
