GoT Prequel: House of the Dragon (BOOK STUFF INCLUDED)

Wasn’t expecting 2023, but half of 2024 sucks.

 

so many better shows these days, but why does it take 2x as long to make them?

 

There’s going to be a lot of cgi graphics and whatnot in the next season.

 

Tough to wrangle up the dragons, I guess.

 

It’s not just this show. Seems like most big shows are all 1.5-2 years

 

I’m guessing it opens with Blood & Cheese.

Fuck that. Blackwater rebellion is 1000Xs more entertaining.

 

Feel like that will be after house of dragon. I posted it before but they could just continue it as HoD: The Blackfyre Rebellion and just keep it rolling after this series finishes.

 

Would you jump straight to Aegon 4 about to pass away or would you try to bridge the gap? Aegon 3 and Baelor are pretty boring

 

Just do a time jump like they did in HoD. Worked pretty well.

 

Guess HBO is scared to do anything w/o Dragons.

That being said, I’ll watch. Not a whole lot of stuff plot wise outside of Dorne. Just Aegon and his wives going around wrecking shit.

 

Could do something like the dance part of HOTD ending with the last dragon dying as the final scene, then the next season start with a voiceover of the kids growing up and a quick history lesson leading up to Aegon IV towards the end of his life. Then you have some serious content to turn into tv seasons

 

Can’t wait for what I really think is going to be the first scene of the new season.

 

Blood & Cheese? It will be fantastic. I think it will have an effect like the cold opening when Arya avenged the red wedding.

 

This will get released around the time of the new NCAA football game. it's gonna be a good summer.

 

You don't think it's something you build to being at the end of the episode? Cold openings can be awesome, but a pivotal moment like that would benefit more from drawing you back in first imo

 

I worry about a show filmed with no writers room to assist with necessary re-writes.

 

Fortunately they have all of the source material unlike GoT

 

I don’t know. My gut is that it’s the opening. We’ll see.

Yeah, I don't think you do that as a cold open. You end an episode with it so the audience has a week of saying "what the fuck?!?!"

 

Yeah I imagine you start with Jace going to the Eyrie and Winterfell
