A lot of the restaurants in my area have (understandably) shut down. The Charlevoix is one place doing a great job of curbside service, I am trying to order from them weekly. They have been very gracious throughout. If anyone is located on the East side or finds themselves in the area, check em out.
There's supposed to be a Bad Brad's opening up down the street from me in the summer. Not sure if that's still happening. Was real excited about the prospect of a 2 minute walk to a BBQ place.
Nothing has made me want to move out of Livingston Co more than this restaurant portion of the thread. Slim pickins out here in hillbilly land.
Kid plays tournament baseball and I keep getting emails from the ones we are registered for in mid June, we are good to go, in fact are looking to add more options to May since HS seasons are cancelled. Ummm, doubtful any of that is happening.
I'm beginning to conclude that competitive youth sports organizations are second only to the GOP as far as being a soulless, bloodsucking blight on the United States.
Not optimal timing for this if it causes some widespread damage with limited work forces out in that industry.
What is the deal with the extended days to 4/30? Assume once that gets fully voted through an announcement for shelter in place through that date will happen again? Is that the general thought?
They are two separate things. The state of emergency was extended to 4/30, Whitmer wanted to extend it to June. She will likely announce another shelter in place though, most likely through end of April.
That was my thought as well. Fully expect to have to renew the state pf emergency at end of April through end of May. Shelter in place 5/15 and see what happens.
I know suppliers are allowed to maintain emergency-level staffing right now. I don't think they'll have any problem scaling up if storms do a lot of damage. It isn't an industry where people believe Whitmer is doing the right thing.
Sat up with my 7 year old son watching the lightning, counting for the thunder, and explaining how the speed of light and sound work. Also, I'm drunk.
I bought those cherries in the past hoping that they'd replace Luxardos as my go-to. I liked them, but just aren't as good as Luxardo IMO.
"Large stores must also close areas of the store that are dedicated to carpeting, flooring, furniture, garden centers, plant nurseries, or paint."
Still expect another extension or if lifted that businesses will still be heavily restricted by capacity and such.
