I grew up in Detroit and lived there until middle age. That was 30+ years ago.

I went last year for the first time during labor day and it's expanded much more. The layout is just unreal. Good music and a great ordering system.

They sell gummies so cheap everywhere. Do y'all get Church carts up there? Think the only place that gets the 1g's is House of Dank downhere.

I'm about an hour and a half from AA, but there's not much in the metro Detroit area as a whole. Burn Rubber in Royal Oak, a few high end consignment shops downtown like NoJo Kicks. There used to be a dunk spot in Ypsi or AA I forget which that would get dunks, I think there is a spot in Farmington that does as well. Most of them run raffles and you have to live w/in 30 miles so I can't even register.

Haha I’m on the west side but had lived over there in AA as a grad student for a time. Not much over there from what I can remember. I’d probably just stick with the current methods of buying them unfortunately.

Or just wait till StockX opens up a retail store at their Detroit location.

    The https://www.lakemichigancircletour.com/ is a thing!

I agree that downtown Milwaukee is a definite stop. Find a riverfront bar and drink beers.

At least stop by Lambeau in Green Bay.

If you haven't been to Mackinac Island, take the ferry from St. Ignace for a day/night.

Stay in Charlevoix or on Lake Charlevoix and go to the Landing for beers/food.

Stay in Traverse City, drive up Old Mission Peninsula, do some wine tasting and beer drinking.

Have lunch in Leland and go to the Sleeping Bear Dunes.

I'd grab some food at the Stray Dog in New Buffalo.

I assume there is no need to do Chicago and there are folks here much better-versed at the west side of the state than me.

I happened to be passing through Green Bay on a Sunday late morning in winter.

As it happened, it was a Packers home game day. So we detoured to the Lambeau area to see the sights. It looked like a college town on game day morning. Tailgates were everywhere. And the stadium is beautiful.

I assume you were there for the original Ice Bowl, celebrating your 50th birthday.

I had a blast man. Yanks Tigers was awesome. Did a sweet walking architecture tour the next day. Downtown Detroit is awesome. Will need to get down there again without getting so high because I rendered myself unable to drive for most of my time there and didn't get to as many restaurants as I wanted

Nice little lake to cruise around on. What are you looking to get into? Fishing, hiking, golf? Not much of a nightlife or restaurant scene, it's the poorest county in Michigan with a few nice lakes and the PM River.

Gotcha, I honestly just didn't know much about the area. Heading there for a long bachelor weekend, I think mostly the groom is just looking forward to some chill time with the boys on the water, he's been in Phoenix the last 4/5 years.

I guess I was just curious if there was a hidden gem diner or a trail rec that's fun to hike.

I like to have breakfast at the golf course (Marquette Trails) because it's close to my family's cottage and the owners are good people. Food is good but pretty standard. The food across the street at Nahtaka is decent too. There may be better restaurants in town, I just haven't been to any of them in years.

A quick easy hike would be to do a lap around Bowman Lake. It's crystal clear and the fishing is good, lots of bass and panfish. Also lots of snakes. Link below.

No problem - feel free to tag me if you have any other questions. Highly recommend doing the hike around Bowman, it's a nice little 2-3 hr hike but can be done quicker if you're pressed for time. You'll be up there on an "off" weekend for tourists so both the lake and trails should see relatively low traffic.

Everyone that I've talked to that played it talked more about the cause than the course. The price tag probably doesnt match the course, but it's for a good cause.

Sounds like it needs to time to grow in like the South Course at Arcadia needed the first summer as well.

That said, Ill be getting out there later this summer to check out the changes they made too

74 during the day, 71 in the evening, 68 overnight.

My house also isn't very energy efficient. Big windows facing west and a big garage that acts like a radiator to the upstairs, and a 20+ year old air conditioner. So I can't just let it heat up during the day and then cool it down at night, because it won't catch up until like 2am.
