this thread and state will be worse off when you officially move back.
I like this Corktown neighborhood.
The Standby and The Skip are awesome.
Sorta wish I had done Tigers game but now content exploring all these nooks. Lot of Atlanta vibes.
you hit up Bouzoukis yet?
Feels like a beautiful day for college football today.
Anyone play Coyote Golf Club in Lyon Township lately? Have a tee time there tomorrow.
I played there back in April. Probably won’t go back, but it’s decent for the price. Pace of play was super slow. Will probably be even worse worse tomorrow, but should be beautiful day outside. Have fun
Currently in Ann Arbor and idk if its possible to get better weather than today
Stop in MDen and get some sweet gear.
Any bar/restaurant with patio or open air setting that would have US Open on a TV?
I'm pretty out of date, but that seems achievable. Perhaps some current locals will have specific recommendations.
Today was a gorgeous day.
Seems like pace of play is a common complaint. Will make me a little tense when I'm on 16 after 5 hours and my wife is texting about dinner. The beer will help.
Holy shit, that was a 5.5 hour round. The course is a little gimmicky, which makes for slow groups. Probably won't play it again anytime soon.
Heading up to Suttons Bay next week. Anything new(restaurants, breweries, etc.) that opened up since last summer worth checking out in that area or around Traverse City?
Anybody have recommendations?
Hop Lot is great
Yeah. We've gone there every year since they've been open. It seems to get better each year. We'll try to go there when they have live music playing some night this week.
If you’re near TC, going to burritts meat market is an option I always recommend
Best fucking sausages around
Looks like a tornado near Holly
Sounds like we will push triple digits this time next week and I get to stand up in an outdoor wedding next Saturday. Sweet.
Normally I'm done with summer weather by mid-August. I've been yearning for September nights since last week.
Although last night was pretty perfect.
where you seeing that?
Weather has been awful this weekend.
No rain over here. Wish we had gotten some but whatever.
yeah rain has held off, but no sun either yesterday or today
Ain't no sunshine when he's gone...
Beautiful weekend imo. Few things better in life than being outside in the morning at the end of summer and getting an hour of that cool crisp air that lets you know football is coming
It's going to be an apple-tastic fall. Get the mills up and running!
Spoiler: apple harvest
Michigan apple lovers will be overjoyed with the apple crop this fall.
As the apple harvest is getting underway, the overall crop is expected to be a bushel buster.
The Michigan Apple Committee on Friday announced a crop estimate of a whopping 29.5 million bushels, per the annual U.S. Apple Outlook's August meeting in Chicago. All those apples equate to 1.239 billion pounds of apples.
That estimate marks growers harvesting more than 10 million more // bushels than in the 2021 season. Michigan apple growers produced 15.6 million bushels last year, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
“Ideal weather conditions in spring and summer, dedicated growers and stored energy from 2021’s smaller crop has resulted in a large, high-quality apple crop for Michigan,” said Diane Smith, executive director of the Michigan Apple Committee in a news release.
What’s everyone’s go to Cider Mill? I’m partial to Uncle Johns’s in St. John’s myself.
Yates for donuts, Blake's for the random ciders
I enjoy Yates but you’re basically risking your life every time you park across the street.
Grew up going to Franklin Cider Mill
Franklin is very solid. It’s closer to me than Yates, but I always forget about it.
My sophomore season in HS, we played a Canadian team from Windsor or something like that. They kept getting illegal motion penalties and punted on 3rd down a few times.
Power has been out for 11 hours. No restoration time available.
Hey me too!
Oof. Mine flickered for about 20 seconds last night but I got lucky. Looks like a lot of Ann Arbor is out based on traffic lights this morning.
I was fine but somehow lost internet overnight 6 hours after the storms had passed.
Restoration of sometime after 2pm so I'm in the office shooting a nerf dart gun
Side note: I’ve spent more time and money at Starbucks today than I had lifetime to date before. I can actually see why people like this place.
Samesies. Went out for about a minute around 11pm.
Third world problems. Y'all oughta move sumplace with inferstructure.
Still no updates. Gonna be a dark day if this isnt fixed when CFB starts on saturday.
Latest for me is 80% will be restored in the area by EOB 9/1.
Always like Irwin's South Lyon
Vinegar Strokes needs some new pants....
Grew up a block from there.
Yeah, yeah, something something horse & buggy something.
DTE’s outage map is really cool because not only does it not tell me when to expect my power to be back on, but it also flaunts that like 90% of their customers are currently enjoying power.
