Hey Corch, I'm going up to the lake house this afternoon. Docks aren't even in the water yet, so we're going to sit next to the lake and just enjoy the lake being there.
We should start a Great Lakes cruise line. 5 day cruise stops at Mackinac Island, Traverse City, Saugatuck, Chicago and Milwaukee, 7 day includes the Picture Rocks.
Seasonal line that only runs June through September. Lease the boats, or buy them and run them out to the Atlantic in the fall and lease them to somebody else.
LANSING -- Stuart Dunnings III, Ingham County's prosecuting attorney for nearly two decades, paid for sex "hundreds of times" with multiple women between 2010 and 2015, according to information released this afternoon by Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette's office. Dunnings is facing 15 criminal charges in Ingham, Clinton and Ionia counties. Ten are misdemeanors of engaging services of a prostitute, according to court records, but one count in Ingham County's 54A District Court is for pandering — enticing another person to become a prostitute — a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Mike Dillon, court administrator for 55th District Court, said the judges there have recused themselves and that Dunnings would be arraigned by Jackson County 12th District Court Judge Michael Klaeren. The court computer for 54A District Court in Lansing shows seven criminal charges, including pandering, which is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Court records also show a charge of willful neglect of duty and five counts of engaging in the services of a prostitute. The court computer for 55th District Court in Mason shows three criminal charges entered today: willful neglect of duty and two counts of engaging in services of a prostitute. Dunnings hasn't been arraigned yet, according to court records. Officials at Ionia County's 64A District Court confirmed this morning that Dunnings faces two counts there: willful neglect of duty and engaging the services of a prostitute. Dunnings, a Democrat, was first elected prosecutor in November 1996 and was most recently re-elected in 2012 to his fifth four-year term. He is a past president of the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan. Schuette is asking anyone who may have been a victim of Dunnings to contact the attorney general's office at (517) 241-6556.
The wonderful thing about Dunnings, besides the prostition, pandering and neglect of duties, is that Michigan fans will claim he was super soft on Michigan State athletes, based on various events, while Michigan State fans will claim he was super hard on State athletes, because he got his JD at Michigan. Either way, he wears a bowtie and deserves to go down.
If enticing another person to become a prostitute is a crime, we're going to have shut down all the law schools for pandering.
If we're being honest with ourselves, we all know that Dunnings didn't prosecute Appling and Payne because Izzo knew about his little secret and threatened to reveal it.
There are actually already a few cruise lines that hit up places along the Great Lakes. Here's one close to your description, and one that goes from Chicago to Montreal. The average age on these things has to be like 80.
Has anybody driven a power boat across Lake Michigan? Been meaning to give that a run one of these summers. Not sure what size of boat I would need, what other equipment, etc.
I went to Mantitowoc for a deposition like 10 years ago. Fuck that place then. We asked the hotel clerk for the best restaurant in town and he sent us to a place across from the courthouse where old men were wearing their dressy Packers sweaters and they friend the asparagus that came with our steak. Then drove through a blizzard back to Chicago. It's an end of the earth type of place. It's like the U.P., but without any charm.
Solid, although too much Wisconsin and not enough Northern Michigan. I dated a girl from Milwaukee once, and a high point was her mom agreeing with me that Traverse City shit on Door County.
It's about 80 miles from Chicago to Grand Haven. Take you 2-3 hours in a decent sized speed boat. Just depends on the weather. If you rent a bigger boat, you just need booze and a weather app.
It's a valid point - really have to be sure on weather. I've even been out on St. Clair in too small of a boat for the conditions and it is not fun at all.

So I understand that Opening Day is a pretty big deal in Detroit, but this is my first one living in Michigan since 2000 and holy shit is it a big deal. We're having a huge office party with coney dogs and all the ballpark fixings and putting the game on the big screen in our big conference room for people to watch, and like a third of the office is in Detroit instead of at work anyway. Maybe it should be a state holiday.
Seriously, there is popcorn cart and a pump cheese nacho station at my office right now. Somebody brough in Miller Sharps. That person can get bent.
I took the day off work and am currently fixing slaw dogs with cheese and pickles and tater tots for game time.
