On the lake between Holland and Grand Haven. That was the wildest storm I’ve ever witnessed. Absolutely terrifying and breathtaking at the same time. Hope everyone is ok.
I'm in Detroit area for work, but my wife and kids are in GH and had to head down to basement. Not a lot of fun being away from home tonight. Sounds like the worst part has passed and the storm lost some steam hitting shore so hopefully rest of the state isn't hit as hard
Ya. All we have now is distant lightening and thunder and dripping rain. The lightening was strobing for 20-30 minutes. It was like someone was flipping the sun on and off as the outside was fully illuminated one half second and dark the next. I hope I never have to see something like that again.
Tornado sirens have been going for at least an hour around me in GR area. Lightning currently flashing like the aliens are invading.
Model forecasts show we could warm to 20 degrees warmer than normal. The normal high temperatures in far southeast Michigan are 80 degrees to 82 degrees. If we add 20 degrees on to the average we get an afternoon high temperature over 100 degrees. It is tough to crack 100 degrees in Michigan. In this case I wouldn’t rule it out, but I’d plan on 97 degrees to 99 degrees being fairly likely at least next Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Prior to the hottest days temperatures will be in the low-to-mid 90s. Vin make sure you stay hydrated when you’re flipping the Vape store sign
Helluva storm just rolled through. Flood the back patio and I just got the storm culvert cleared of debris before it flooded my basement (again). I was out there in water over my knees getting poured on trying to get the leaves and sticks out of there with a landscaping rake. Huge sigh of relief when the culvert cleared and the water started draining.
