Wet as fuck on my commute home. Roads are giong to be a mess in a few hours when this all starts freezing again. Hopefully the overnight isn't too bad
Grew up in Canton, went to Florida state for college and moved to Plymouth when I got back. After a year in Novi I live in royal oak now
Zeeland. I frequent Holland and GR. Rarely/never go to Grand Haven. Will stop in Saugatuck a few times a year. That paddle for booze thing in TC sounds great
I love grand haven, doesn't hurt I have a good friend who lives in walking distance from downtown and my cousin owns a brewery there so I get a free place to stay and usually free booze
I like Grand Haven, for awhile, the strip devolved into our own little piece of Crawfordville every weekend. (I'll throw that reference out for DetroitNole, spent a year at TCC) Heard it's much better now.
Nope...bailed when I started feeling wishy-washy about law school and the Michigan board pretty much talked me out of it.
Yeah that was part of it and I was just really tired of being broke college student. Couldn't handle 3 more years of it. I wouldn't have added any more debt, but I wouldn't have any extra money, either.
Don't need a law degree to be a prolific message board contributor, no matter how many Michigan lawyers make it appear so.
I live in DC now, but grew up in a variety of Detroit suburbs. Family now lives in Dearborn and Brighton. Went to DCDS, which was a really fun commute every day.
Live in Columbus, but grew up in Bloomfield Hills...we had/still have a cottage on Lake Mitchell in Cadillac as well. Spend a long weekend up at Torch Lake every single summer for the last 15 years.
Yeah, it was soggy as fuck until I got west of Haggerty. All snow, no melt out by me. Took surface streets all the way because the freeway was a parking lot - an hour to go 17 miles.
Got absolutely dumped on in Brighton. Tried driving to the gym last night and had to stop at the bottom of a hill because a guy in a rear wheel drive was fishtailing all over the place. By the time he cleared out, I couldn't get any traction. Finally turned around and went home to get the wife's SUV (which was slightly more effective). Ah well, it looks pretty & is a good excuse to work from home.
I live like 10 minutes from Heesu, going to take his sister (or ~ taylor ~'s) out to a nice dinner at Sushi Zen someday.
Jonny B'z > Yesterdog. Yester was always great after watching all the weirdos at Billy's on 80's night though. Spoiler vs
Where's Jonny Bz at? I have a new spot I need to check out next time I'm up there. FWIW, both of those pictures look so good.
Wealthy and James. Right next door to the Winchester which is a great place to grab a drink afterwards. Heard they are building a new spot though, not sure where and not sure if it's a 2nd one or they are relocating. Parking is a bitch over there.
Quickest I've ever gotten to work was today (R.O. to Detroit), got here in like 17 minutes. No one was on 75 and it was not in bad shape. Everyone must be staying home today
Goddamn it is still snowing. Going to be another storm midweek next week, althought it looks more like 6" instead of 10". I wonder what thread icon I would have used for this thread had I made it when they existed. Probably not M or S, as I wouldn't want to offend. Maybe I would have special requested the old Michigan Panther logo:
All the schools and gov't offices are closed, and a lot of businesses. It took me no time to get to work, even driving 55-60 the whole way.
