It's already snowed a couple inches in western Oakland County, and the heavy stuff hasn't started yet.
A new 7" of snow in my driveway this morning and my snowplow guy is out of town. I really don't want to shovel.
Yeah, not great, spent 45 minutes essentially shoveling a two track from my house to the exit of the sub and the entire entrance since we never get plowed until at best a week post snowfall. I'm ready for my vacation any time.
I shoveled everything at my house and my neighbors in about 90 minutes. Go get a Peloton and you can join me in triumph.
$2,000 on a peloton and you don't have a snow blower? I'm questioning your Treat-Yo-Self choices right now
Honestly you have been in this area long enough now to know storms like these aren’t even yearly things anymore, so I just get a good sweat in with the shovel when they occur. When I am ~ taylor ~ s age, maybe I’ll change my tune though.
Hahahaha, fuck you guys!!!! I don't have a snowblower, because shoveling a normal snow takes about 25 minutes (of peace and quiet away from my kids), and I usually pay somebody $25 to plow for the rare big storms. Been averaging 1-2 plows a year. Much easier than maintaining a snowblower. And my son will be shoveling age pretty soon.
Snow was so deep here in boonies that I had to shovel the top layer off just for the snow blower to work properly.
Yeah I’m in (or was? haven’t skated during ‘vid) one here in Brighton. Not sure where you’re at but it’s probably the one thing you can count on finding in any corner of Michigan.
My parents got us one of those big ass craftsman snowblowers when we built our house 3 years ago and the thing has been nothing but a pain in my ass every time I try to use it. It's an electric start, but always takes forever to get going the first snow of the season, and like DeToxRox said we rarely get enough to even use it anymore. My wife leaves for work at 5 a.m. so I wasn't up to do it before she left, then our two little ones were up until my parents got here to watch them. My dad ended up blowing the snow b/c I had to get online for work. He loves doing it for god knows what reason, very thankful for that.
He's gotta drop another 2K on the new Peloton. His is old now. Can't be wasting money on things like snowblowers.
My jerk off neighbor flexing on the whole neighborhood wheeling his snowblower back to his garage at 6 am as I was leaving for work, marveling at his down to cement driveway. Man his edges are clean.
Yeah I had an apartment in Chicago that had them in the gym. I’ve missed it ever since I moved out of that place.
Cornelius Suttree also all the murals around Eastern Market, great place to grab a bite and a beer too — not sure what current restrictions look like there
In the summer go to Ann Arbor and check out the Law Quad and the Union, then the Arboretum. Lots of awesome old buildings and then the Arb is pretty sweet.
It's kinda staggering how much everything in Midland revolves around Dow HH Dow High School. Dow Chemical Employees' Credit Union. Dow Diamond. Dow Gardens
I have been told that the social pecking order at midland high is largely dictated by who’s parents outrank who. I kinda doubt that’s true but I like to think it is.
Interned at Dow for a summer in the mid 90s. Main takeaways about Midland were that literally everything revolves around Dow and *holy fuck* at how openly racist that town was.
Like when I moved to the Deep South. It wasn't so much that people were MORE racist, but that they were unabashedly racist.
Need suggestions for dinner in Grand Rapids. I'm picking the wife and kid up at the airport and want to grab dinner before heading back
