Couldn’t agree more. How many times have we lost in the playoffs because of our Defense only for our O and ST to fall flat on their face last night. I don’t mind losing (not entirely true), but I fucking hate losing when you essentially controlled the game all night and because of 2-3 bullshit plays you lose.
Sucks watching all these other QB lead there team down the field to score with very little time left, while Rodgers predetermined to throw it to Adams on 3rd and 11.
Let's be honest, you could probably put together a lengthy clip of #12 reverting back to the 2018 hero ball offense on Saturday and that pisses me off more than special teams play.
Yes, but at the end of the day you still lost because your special teams had the worst analytical day all year by any one team. Surpassing everybody, including your previously held title of #1 after the Bears game. Rodgers was fucking bad. Worst playoff game he has ever had. The special teams doesn’t fuck up 1 singular thing of like 5 and we win. Finally the defense could have won us a game, legit, and instead here we are. Fuck I’m still mad.
So Getsy will be OC now I assume. LaFleur said that if Hackett got a HC job that his replacement would be internal.
https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/football/nfl/player-news/10572696 Packers WR Davante Adams is “looking for a contract near $30 million per year.” Pro Football Network's Tony Pauline reports Aaron Rodgers has “told people in confidence” he wants free agents Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling wherever he plays next season.
They just need to move money around and get there with the headline number. Cap is exploding next year. In the 2023 world his number isn't unreasonable, in the 2022 the club's number is reasonable. Just make both happen.
My biggest fear is that we push the problem down the line and bring back a slightly worse team that will choke well before the Super Bowl again next season. Just blow it up, deal with 2022, and move on. If it didn't happen this year it isn't going to. And frankly he deserves that to be his legacy.
I don't know, I have faith in their ability to draft their way through a rebuild. I am cool with trying to string this along a year and take our shot with Jaire and Bak. Think about it, you can second guess their drafts but when we've had shitty years we came away with Jaire and Gary (Raji if you want to go back a bit further).
I'm excited at the prospect of someone, preferably not named Love, at the helm coupled with some skilled draft picks. Was whatever about the loss. Ready to move on from Rodgers.
I think that’s an over-simplification of the issues. We can run it back, we’ll probably win the division, maybe get the bye again, and still lose before the Super Bowl. I think it’s just time to move on, especially while we can cash in and get something. Rodgers, minus 2010, is a loser when it matters most. And in life.
I appreciate we have some diversity of opinion here. Shows we actually cut pretty well across the Packers fan base.
he honestly has pretty insane stats in playoffs, before the last loss they had 20 games in a row (record) of scoring 20+ in playoffs. Brady’s done it 8 times as his most. that’s why I said it’s ironic that the time the defense showed up the most he literally had his worst playoff game ever. But, he fucking lost all personal respect with his campaign of dipshittery off-the-field. Just don’t retire old-man. That’s the worst outcome.
I think that the gameplan must have heavily featured/relied upon Dillon. Jones was needed in the passing game so they couldn't give him too much workload running the ball either. They just were soft from that point on.
It’s truly going to be a ‘kick the can down the road 2-3 years.’ or ‘Trade Rodgers and Adams after the tag and see what we have’ Option 1 seems more likely and if they go that route you kind of want them to try to resign every damn person they conceivably can because when that rooster comes home to chirp it’s going to be a top 10 pick for us no matter how good Matty is (which, we will need a qb, so whatever)
