If there is no football in 2020 then a pick to win now matters less
After some further reflection this morning, I'm going to take the high road on Love since everyone else hates the pick. I liked the Rodgers pick back in the day.
Pat Mahomes 2.0
I fully ready to rage if I don’t like our 2nd rd pick
So many Wr being taken
We can always pick up a WR in the late rounds who won't pan out
At this point take Baun I guess?
Maybe Brian Edwards
How nice would it have been to have Tee Higgins in our pocket rn
I'll take it.
Glad they didnt go WR there, no value with those guys left in the second round.
Not terrible, not great, would've loved for anyone else in the first round
Well theres no value in AJ Dillon either.
No WR, OL, LB. Im confused.
Imagine spending top 60 capital on 2nd & 3rd string players.
I am all for long term decisions but when you have one of the best quarterbacks of the decade, you better give him the damn pieces to win today. We’re simply not doing that.
We couldve got Eno Benjamin in like the 5th round and there aint much of a difference between him and Dillon
Watching the Packers draft is super unsatisfying. It's like watching sausage being made.
The process is terrible but the end product is usually enjoyable.
until you get food poisoning
Puke and rally
No way Covid fucks up football to the point of no 2020 season. Testing #'s are low,but even then half the people testing positive are asymptomatic and only 1 in 1000 people 18-45 has needed to be hospitalized. It simply isn't deadly enough to keep shutting down the US for much longer.
Don't know how to feel about this one.
This would all be fine if we got one of the WR's round one
Taking another TE 3rd round just seems redundant with Sternberger.
Every pick has sucked so far
I'd be curious what the teams opinion of St Brown was last year before he got hurt. He didn't get a ton of run in the preseason before the injury. Was he clearly #2 and they gave other guys run to figure out the roster, or was he just in the mix and targets are random? Rodgers pretty much didn't play so it's not like the reps were geared towards working on the offense.
It's just odd to see Gute ignore the WR position based on how he has approached the off-season previously. He's attacked weaknesses with a lot of resources. And his postseason press conference made clear he recognized the offense needs weapons.
2018 he signed Tramon and spent two early picks on DBs
2019 he gets the Smiths and follows it up with Gary
If we can get a heavy dose of 2 rb sets with Jones involved in the passing game that would go a long way to making the offense work. Perhaps that is even the best way to get the passing game help, more touches for Jones in the passing game.
it’s clearly going to be a lot of Jones out in formation with a ton of 22 personnel
I’m just confused at some of these picks
6'3"240 lbs Minnesota
10 POS RK
157 OVR RK
Martin has good height, a thick build and long arms. He does a good job of keeping blockers off his pads, and he excels at locating the ball while engaged with blockers. He's a solid wrap-up tackler. He's instinctive and shows a good feel for crossers in zone coverage. Martin will have some man-to-man limitations in the NFL. -- Steve Muench
18 starts in 45 games, just what we wanted
So same WR crew as last year fun
no receiving help
I don't understand
I find it impressive that in need of WR's, in one of the deepest WR classes ever, we managed to not draft one in the first six rounds.
Lol not a single WR
Makes no sense
I find it hard to believe Higgins could have helped our roster
I was never real high on Higgins, but there are other names you could sub in and say the same thing. Aiyuk going so early was a kick in the nutts and probably fucked everything up. Pittman or Mims would have worked for me too.
To be clear, I wouldn't have been mad at Higgins, I just preferred others had the board fell right
PA only works when you have WR that are a threat
Would have loved Mims as well
Getting Tyler Johnson or Proche on day 3 would’ve been good.
Pretty much every round there was a guy at WR that went a couple picks before us I was praying to fall
No weapons at all for Rodgers is BS if I’m Rodgers I’m pissed
I can count on no fingers the times the Packers draft has ever made sense.
