Thought most (or some) places don't make reservations on Vday?

 

reservations are for the birds. true bosses walk in and get vip treatment

 

Nah pretty much everywhere does. Some places may limit the amount but they won't eliminate them completely usually

 

Guess that's what I get for going to a chain restaurant last Vday (Carrabba's). They did call ahead wait list but no reservations

 

Rick Erwin's tonight. Me and the roommates will be looking for the single and thus emotionally unstable women at the bar.

 

Wife sicker than shit. Off the hook.

 

One of my good buddies lives in those condos right above Rick Erwin's. Great spot.

 

I know exactly where he lives now.

 

Went to Falls Park today. Can't believe those Mexicans and dirtnecks go swimming in that thing. lol

What do you want? I'm far from an expert yet, but I couldn't recommend bohemian enough. Not technically dt, but like a 2 min drive.

I've found roost to be pretty good. Spoon bread is pretty tasty.

 

Will be hitting that up next week. Heard good things.

 

Have had the pizza, lasagna, and a sandwich and of course the gelato

Not trying to derail arks lunchtime advice, but what is the consensus as to greenville BBQ? I am a bit of a NC BBQ cunt, but I can get down with any style if it's done well.

I pass by Henry's and always wonder if it's worth a shit. What about the greater greenville area?

 

Mike and Jeff's and Smoky Dreams are the best. Smoky Dreams has really solid brisket.

 

Strip club 104 is really good though

 

How is Papi's Tacos and Bacon Bros?

 

Had smokey dreams on your recommendation the other day. Solid, didn't try the brisket though.

 

I actually tried Smoky Dreams after Dbl mentioned it. Had the ribs and brisket which were both pretty good but I haven't tried the pulled pork yet.

 

Henry's is good, best BBQ is Charlie's.

I think Ark is warming up to Greenville

 

I don't mind Greenville. Wouldn't want to live here, but I dont like being far from the coast

Ate at Rick Erwin's this weekend. I had always heard it was overpriced and over hyped. However, we had a $100 gift card so what the hell right?

Anyway, food was adequate. It wasn't terrible by any means. But not particularly great. Definitely extremely overpriced. IIRC, they had a steak on their menu for like $60. Lololololol what the fuck. If I paid $60 for merely a decent, above average steak, I would be furious. Waiter was kind of a dick.

 

I have heard this as well. Dad said isn't worth the price.
This is a place GF took me for bday. It's in Georgia, but when I think of an extremely nice steak for 60 dollars this is the kind of place I expect.

How is bacon bros?

 

I'm normally a Filet guy and asked waiter what their best steak was. He replied bone in ribeye lollipop cut aged 38 days. Best meal and steak I've ever had in my life hands down. Apparently chef is from Chicago and is old school way they prepare their meat. Great for scotch/whiskey also.

 

Yeah, Larkins is considerably better, in my opinion, for that type of restaurant.

 

But for the gift certificate, we would not have gone. I ended up still spending too much money for drinks and tip and whatnot.
