Was bummed when they stopped doing lunch last year. You could get a great burger or mussels and a beer for around $15.
My museum experience here is limited to the Confederate Museum downtown. The curator was guiding us through the museum. He said I seemed "like a Yankee with a sense of humor", and gave me a shiny Lincoln penny. With a teeny tiny hole drilled through the temple. Quite the jokester.
I like art museums a good bit. Hadn't heard about GCMA somehow...their website says they are "considered the premier American art museum in the South". Wouldn't that be High Art Museum in Atlanta?
I have. It has 3 floors. Paintings and sculptures. They had a section with a traveling art show that was pretty cool but I cant remember the name of it.
I've been told (by actual artists) that the art museum at Bob Jones, of all places, is quite good. It has a theme, of course, but still.
Not sure if I'd check that out or not. Wouldn't want to support those people, but curious to check it out. I'd rather visit a Clemson museum than a BJU museum
Fair enough. I think the collection was actually Bob Jones’ personal collection. Kind of shows you how profitable being a soulless grifter like he and the rest of that ilk can be to amass that kind of wealth. It’s a stunning collection nonetheless. Also free.
Back in town for only the 2nd or 3rd time since I moved away. Trappe Door for dinner. Such a fantastic establishment. Don’t particularly miss living here, but I’m always glad to come back.
Coming down for a concert Saturday. Any outdoor brewery/restaurant recommendations for lunch and beers before?
I couldn't think of anything else down that way other than liberty that isnt a higher end restaurant. Guess you could hit up Husk for their bar.
I'm hitting Husk for dinner Monday night actually. Looking forward to Methodical Coffee and some of my other favorite Greenville spots.
They opened a second shop off of Wade Hampton which makes it so much easier to get vs. trying to park downtown. They are opening a third soon. http://www.commonsgvl.com/
Back in town for work. Walked over to sit at the bar at Jianna. Was phenomenal. Started with grilled octopus. As my main course had this fusilli with pork sausage that was one of the best dishes I’d had in a while. Bartenders put a couple of bottles of beer in my to go bag and now back at the hotel watching the braves. Really solid spot. Highly recommend.
If my 4th and final interview with this company tomorrow morning goes well I may be getting out of the slums of Myrtle Beach to the beautiful upstate.
My employer would be between Main and River on Falls Park Dr. So preferably somewhere between a 30-45 minute drive with a good elementary school in the area. Haven't really pinpointed an area to be honest so any ideas you have are welcome.
Any downtown restaurants serve food late on a Sunday? It looks like from yelp Ink and Ivy is my best option.
like all of the cribbs family restaurants, time of day matters a lot. portion size and quality will vary between dinner and lunch, with one being vastly superior. willy taco spartanburg is better at night, cribbs kitchen is better at night, the flock shop is better at lunch, the kennedy is fantastic and only open for dinner.
Hey, I’ve never been to Greenville, but I’m staying there in two weeks on my way to drop off my daughter at camp. Staying at the Westin Poinsettia downtown. Any dinner recs downtown? - leaning nicer than casual.
