Basically. The second dude having a gun is really a very small detail in the case. He having a gun played no role in the crime. The article headline (or the posters comment i can’t remember which) was sensationalized. The dude was straight up murdered. Strawnmannnn
I was playing the role I'm typecasted here to do even when I’ve posted at length, quite possibly in this thread, but certainly on this board, for what I think is sensible gun regulation.
Yeah I understood what you said. Not sure why Arkadin wanted to stay woke and further insult a murder victim.
Not really. It’s just shaming the victim of a murder. His carrying of a weapon played no part in him being the victim of gun violence.
They understand it fully. They also fully understand due to horrendous SCOUTS rulings, they can completely ignore it and just shout SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED! anytime this point is brought up.
DC vs Heller may be one of the most destructive supreme court cases in our nation's history. Coming from someone who has grown up with guns since age 4 and supports the 2A allowing revolvers, pump action shotguns, and bolt action rifles. People that think they need anything more than that are dumbasses, pussies, or disingenuous internet trolls. Likely all of the above.
They really need to find a way to track illegal guns and get them off the street in a better way. We get these news stories every now and then that everyone debates, but between then we have nights like in Detroit Saturday where seven different people were shot. The east side of Detroit has basically had a shooting a day this summer. We had 31 warrants submitted in June in our homicide unit (and that's just ones the police can solve). I bet you could count on one hand the amount of people of those shootings who "legally" owned the guns under current gun laws. I wish more people would be concerned how to stop the abundance of illegally owned guns in our country because its absolutely insane the amount of shootings that happen every day. And I'm not sure what the answer is. I think punishing our current gun laws stricter would help, but then there is backlash for the number of people who are locked up for "non-violent" crimes when you lock up felons who are possessing guns. Again, I dont know the answers to this, but man my job has really exposed me to how alarming the illegally owned gun problem is and how many shootings there are that dont even become a blip on the news radar.
3-year-old boy dies after shooting himself in face Monday, July 29, 2019 9:52AM A 3-year-old boy has died after Chicago police say he shot himself in the face. The shooting took place at a home on Sunday afternoon, authorities said. The boy's family members told authorities they heard a gunshot while in another room and then found the boy with a gun, according to Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi. The 3-year-old was taken to Trinity Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The shooting was believed to be accidental, police said. No arrests have been made, Chicago Police spokeswoman Sally Bown told ABC News on Monday. "We extend our deepest condolences as detectives continue to investigate," Guglielmi tweeted. "DCFS [the Department of Children and Family Services] has also been called in to assist." Kyleanne Hunter, the vice president of The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, says while accidental gun deaths are tragic, "unfortunately this isn't rare at all." Hunter said a child unintentionally shoots themselves or another child eight times every day, citing a multi-year average of data compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. "The most important thing that parents can do is if they choose to bring a gun into the home is to store it safely," Hunter told ABC News in May. "And what we know from research is the most safe way is unloaded, locked, and with the ammunition stored separately." ABC News' Meghan Keneally contributed to this report.

another dumb ass with a gun Kids find gun, deputy’s badge in Airbnb rental in Calif. Kids find gun, sheriff deputy's badge at Airbnb rental January 14, 2020 at 11:17 AM EST - Updated January 14 at 12:16 PM HAYWARD, Calif. (KRON/CNN) - A family staying at an Airbnb property in California had a safety scare when their young son found a loaded gun. "That was just in a drawer in that room. It wasn't hard to find," said Jon Segarra, the boy's father. "It wasn't hidden. It wasn't stashed under a bed or anything. It was in a drawer right there." The boy found the gun inside a Lake Tahoe rental property managed by TurnKey and posted on Airbnb. Segarra and his family had just arrived and were unpacking the car, excited for a fun weekend away, when his son found it in a bedroom. The gun was loaded and sitting in a bedside table next to a Santa Clara County Sheriff's deputy's badge. Segarra said many questions went through his mind. "Who's is it? Are they coming back for it? Are we safe here? Is there anybody looking for it right now? Do we have to wait for someone to pull up in the middle of the night looking for their firearm?" he said. "I think that's kind of what freaked us out, and we didn't want to stay there anymore." They called police, who came and picked up the gun. Airbnb did not respond to a request for comment. TurnKey said this type of situation is unusual, and they take the safety and security of their guests seriously. The sheriff's office says they've launched an internal investigation. They say the gun was not stolen, but it was the deputy's personal gun. They're thankful no one was hurt, as is Segarra, who says it could've been much worse. Airbnb gave the family a full refund, but the family says neither the company nor law enforcement have contacted them with an update. "It's a mistake, but what I' thinking is how do we leverage this as a learning experience now?" he said. "You know, how do we leverage this to educate more vacation goers and property management places to take more initiative to really clean these spaces especially when families are coming there?" another dumb ass with a gun Drivers say someone is shooting at cars on highway near I-95 exit in eastern NC By Mark Price January 16, 2020 09:27 AM Drivers say sniper is shooting at cars on NC 264, leaving bullet holes ABC11 reports that police say a suspected sniper may be taking shots at passing vehicles along U.S. 264 in in Bailey, N.C., 35 miles east of Raleigh. Multiple drivers have reported finding bullet holes in vehicles. By ABC11 Spoiler ABC11 reports that police say a suspected sniper may be taking shots at passing vehicles along U.S. 264 in in Bailey, N.C., 35 miles east of Raleigh. Multiple drivers have reported finding bullet holes in vehicles. By ABC11 A suspected sniper has been taking shots at passing vehicles on a major highway in Eastern North Carolina, and it may have been going on for days, witnesses say. Police in Bailey, 35 miles east of Raleigh, posted a warning to drivers in Wilson County late Wednesday. “Please be careful if traveling 264 East,” the post said. “There have been reports of vehicles being shot at between mile marker 38-40.” In an update, Bailey police said the shootings occurred on U.S. 264 East near the Interstate 95 exit at Sims, a town of 282 people. The department said it contacted sheriff’s offices in both Nash and Wilson counties about the investigation. “Even though this occurred in Wilson County, we all work together to keep the public safe,” the update said. Wanda Samuel of the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office said “several vehicles were struck by bullets” Wednesday, but no injuries were reported, according to The Enterprise. “We have no evidence that indicates if the shootings were intentional or unintentional,” she told the news outlet. Multiple people responded to the Bailey Police Department’s Facebook post with stories of their vehicle being struck by suspected bullets in recent days. Among them was Hugh Scott II, a principal with the Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools. He said the warning came too late for him and posted a photo of damage to his vehicle. “Anyone and everyone please call 911 as soon as possible when this happens but it’s not recommended to stay in the area. Mine happened at 4:54 Tuesday,” he wrote on Facebook. Commenters on the police department’s Facebook page say the shootings have gone on for days, including a woman who said her vehicle was hit Thursday of last week. “We believe our vehicle was shot at Monday afternoon (bullet hole) in the side of vehicle,” Dustin Walston wrote. “We heard 6 shots and we live right beside 264 at the Bailey 581 exit,” Carly Fulghum posted. “We honestly thought it was something to do with the planes flying around.” Read more here: https://www.heraldsun.com/news/state/article239345368.html#storylink=cpy
Strange turn of events. Why This Antifa Group Is Siding With Thousands of Pro-Gun Conservatives In Virginia Antifa Seven Hills, based in Richmond, are opposing the slew of gun bills introduced by the newly Democratic Legislature since November, because they say those types of laws are used primarily to criminalize poor people, minorities, and leftists — and to bolster law enforcement’s power. https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/...housands-of-pro-gun-conservatives-in-virginia
ditching their all black gear and marching with conservatives against a political issue seems strange to me. Maybe not I guess
