Now there was a case where Phillips tried to get fancy, and it ended up costing us. Definitely had an out at 2nd, not sure about turning the DP though.

I think he thought it was out. I also blame the middle infield. Jim did his job. He pitched to contact.
Obviously he thought it was out but anything close give it a go. And pitching to contact is exactly Jim Johnson's problem, He doesnt miss enough bats and gets ripped
Told you guys the Padres were just terrible. The second half offense last year was a fluke, bench is terrible, rotation is below average, bullpen is terrible. Really wish we'd find a consistent top of the order. That's always been the difference in our offenses being good.
