rodriguez cant hit but im pretty cool with his play as a utility player so far... though i dont want him to play as much as they apparently want him to. poor mans camargo
worst case we split with the best team in baseball at their home park and people still think we can't push for a wild card
I will say this about Dansby and his attitude. I was rewatching clips of home runs by Garcia and Flowers and Swanson was the first one in the dugout to congratulate Garcia and he went straight to Flowers to do the same after his. I applaud that because at least he's not pouting and he genuinely seems to be a good teammate with a good attitude.
Jaime García is the first Braves pitcher to hit a grand slam since Tony Cloninger hit two against the Giants on July 3, 1966.
I think what's happening is we're exposing an overhyped NL West. And keep in mind that the Cubs did win the World Series last year.
Jaime Garcia disagrees. Spoiler at the time i meant the other 3 starters but either way it worked out.
I agree but I respect his attitude despite his tremendous struggles of late. I'm sure it's hard to do when you're 2-35 in your last 13 games. There are a lot of selfish players who would pout and be a bitch about it. For a young player and someone we hope figures into our long term plans it's refreshing to see.
I still contend Dansby would be better off going down to Gwinnett, where the pressure is off, so he can relax and find his offensive game again. He's clearly pressing and has lost his confidence. His July slash line is .118/.231/.176 after a decent June, so clearly the league has adjusted back to him.
He just needs to go down and get at bats at this point since Camargo has basically proven he's a starting MLB shortstop. Rodriguez probably has no business back up in the show yet either tbh
Agreed. But saying he has proven to be a starting MLB SS after 132 ABs is one of the dumbest and funniest things I've read in here.
I think the braves just need to be careful with how they present the go down to AAA for a month to work on your game to dansby. They need to make him understand it's not a punishment, but it's to get his game ironed out.
Starting for us makes him a starting MLB short stop I just thought you two were basically saying the same thing
BABIP over .400, walk rate under 4%. I love his game, but definitely some regression to the mean coming.
Per Rosenthal Source: RHP Nick Burdi was prospect going from #Twins to #Braves in Garcia deal before talks stalled. Underwent Tommy John surgery in May. He's saying as many as 8 teams may be interested in Jaime now.
A week ago, I was reporting (and then Bowman copying) that we could get Fisher from the Astros. A future reliever versus a future starter at a corner spot is a big downgrade.
Tonight's lineup with Markakis, Rodriguez, Swanson and Teheran rounding out 6-9 in our order *Repeating exactly what I said last night...for reasons.*
his first at bat tonight was fucking pathetic. just flailing around at the plate. he needs to be sent down already
