Collector’s Edition could include 4k, blu Ray, dvd, vinyl, copy of poster and program from original NYC run, and maybe copies of LMM’s notes
I think 40-50MM would be more around what they'd actually pay - which is still nuts for a single show.
yeah i mean i kinda just threw a number out there. I just think it would be a lot and a good fit for a streaming service.
Not it's really not. How many episodes of Friends is there? There would only be 1 Hamilton. It would compare more to a movie than a TV show.
I LOVE the show and listen to the soundtrack daily. I can’t imagine watching a recording more than once.
Not sure if there’s a lot of crossover Harry Potter/Hamilton fandom but this twitter exchange was enjoyable
Leslie Odom jr is performing at ND tonight. Just about to head in to grab my seat. I'm thinking we'll hear wait for it and a few others tonight. Can't wait
Yeah if it's like when we saw Renée Elise Goldsberry here, he'll sing solo and with backup singers. Do some original stuff and some from Hamilton. Just a mix of everything. Should be fun
that was great. he did covers. he did some hamilton. he did some originals. he did a song from rent. packed house (~2000) and a great night. if he happens to come to your city and you are free to go, i definitely recommend it
Finally got to see this bad boy for the first time in chicago after having the soundtrack memorized for years. Seeing it in person though felt like I was hearing it for the very first time.
Went to Chicago last night. Nothing new to say. Just great. The amount of movements in and out amazed me and the timing is superb. Wife was trying not to sing out loud.
Been playing the soundtrack a lot lately. What are everyone’s top 5(ish)most played or favorite numbers? In no particular order: Right Hand Man, Guns and Ships, What’d I Miss?, Cabinet 1, all of king George. AH and 10 duel commandments after that.
Already listened to “wait for it” 10 times this AM. Amazing depth at the show. I can’t imagine Leslie live.
Wait For It is probably my most played. Yorktown 2 Guns and Ships 3 Alexander Hamilton 4 Schuyler sisters and Satisfied right there too
Wait For It Dear Theodosia The Room Where It Happens Yorktown Guns and Ships I love me some Leslie Odom Jr. I also listen to his Christmas album during the winter
Nonstop was a tough omission for me and may actually be listened to more but I don’t know how to see actual number of listens. The World Was Wide Enough and It’s Quiet Uptown would also show really well
My sister “How was the show?” Me “It was amazing.” S “I’ve heard it’s a love it or hate it thing” M “I’ve never heard that and I will fight anyone that says that IRL” S “Oh, I just heard it is edgy and turns some people off” wife from the other room“It turns off boomers and Trump supporters tjsblue. No one that actually goes doesn’t like it.” ”Oh well that checks out. May be too many to fight but a promise a promise”. Awkward silence. W After my sister leaves “I’m starting to question what circles she runs in” M “agreed” (MarkCubannotetaking.gif).
The only people I have heard that don't like it are offended racists that don't like the all minority cast. Some people aren't interested because it's a musical and they just don't like musicals. Which I find ridiculous but can at least understand.
I tell you what though as much as I love the soundtrack, I sure am getting tired of "Aaron Burr, Sir." Every time I plug my phone in to charge in my car is plays and so I've grown to hate the little drumroll intro. I'm sure there's something I can do about this but haven't got around to it. I am able to recite the "I got sort of out of sorts with a buddy of yours..I may have punched him. It's a blur, sir. He handles the financials?" really well now though.
What if someone just doesn't like musicals at all, and still went to see it because they thought it could be the musical that changed their minds' about musicals, but sadly still didn't like it that much? Asking for a friend.
I'm kidding -- I've never even heard of it outside of this thread. Looks good, but musicals aren't my thing. I'm more interested in people getting their panties in a wad over the style of music.
Yeah I’d think that would actually be the one, but they would all be a letdown after that as the first in my opinion. Seeing Rent after Hamilton would be not great Bob.
Copped tickets this morning for Jacksonville in March. Further back than I wanted but it's all I could find available on their site during launch. May sell and move forward.
GF got me tickets in NYC for my birthday next week and I am super excited. Any suggestions for dinner nearby beforehand?
If you like Sushi, I ate here when I went to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Really good Sushi and shockingly affordable by Manhattan standards. https://www.sushiofgari.com/restaurants/46th/
