Kind of disappointing headline. They filmed the show in 2016 with the original cast and they are I guess going to release it as a film. It will be cool to see but it's not like they are adapting it as it's own feature anytime soon. Now that's gonna be a hit.
Personally I want the original cast just on stage. I don't want a movie version. That changes the entire visual of it.
Having seen the show once (with the traveling cast, not the original) and seeing it again in March, I really don’t care to watch a taped performance of the original cast. The album with the original cast is sufficient. To Snakes point, wake me when they make a major motion picture out of it. This just feels like a cash grab by Lin.
I have seen the show twice and will still be excited to see the original cast production. Broadway live performances have been done in the past.
yeah i mean don't get me wrong, i will watch it on whatever streaming service it comes out on. Maybe even a couple of times. But this isn't a "Hamilton movie"
You have to remember that not everyone can afford to travel to the city that just happens to have the show touring, pay $100+ per ticket, etc. If this lets more people experience it, I’m all for it.
I want this version way more than a film adaptation which I assume would still be the musical but still. This is exactly what I would imagine most people want to see.
His first play “In the heights” has been adapted into a film. A trailer played for it before Little Women I believe and it looks awful not really a fan of stage play to theatrical film adaptations in general but hey LMM get that money
1000000%. I've been waiting to see the footage of the original cast, never even crossed my mind to anticipate a film adaptation. Would watch, but this is what I've been willing to wait for
2021?? Damn. It likely won't be until 2022/2023 (just guessing) but holy hell would that boost subscriptions.
I get it, but I’m crushed. Someone tag dblplay1212 with this since he’s a 5 year old girl and blocks strangers on the internet on a sports message board.
FTR boo asked for you to be tagged trying to be nice in case you didn't know. Sorry he hurt your feelings so bad you are still mad about it
Didn't hurt my feelings, just got tired of him fanboying me by following me from thread to thread. Got kinda weird. Thanks though.
Hamilton was supposed to have the first dates of a 15 month run at Pantages (Hollywood) yesterday. Postponed/canceled now. Can't imagine what it looks like to lose 6,000 tickets per day worth of revenue for over a month given the demand for that show.
It's Hamilton - not a movie ticket with consistent ticket cost. The pricing varies dramatically with placement and the secondary market sales are/were pretty active. It definitely is going to kill the restaurants and bars nearby that rely on the Theatre crowds to stay afloat.
Fair. Sense of humor isn't optimal at the moment - have to close a couple of businesses for the entire month of April due to Corona.
Have you tried selling Dos Equis? Sorry, just trying to have a little fun around here, which we do from time to time.
