Fun fact. The actor in the ensemble of best picture winner Spotlight who was probably the only actor whose name you didn't know was the OG King George III. Also, I'm ashamed at my initial perplexion after seeing Nate Reuss in the My Shot mixtape credits. My sense of hearing is definitely the greatest of natural talents. After two attempts to distinguish Reuss' contribution to the song, it finally dawned on me that the "oooooooooooo ooooooo oooooooooo" that features in every song he has ever sung was it. I wonder if he actually went to a studio just to record that or if it was just sampled from something else.
Inevitable Coachman Burrrrrrrrr pun in regard to the cold weather frequently mentioned in Christmas songs here.
On the topic of puns, the busrsur pun that almost everyone immeadiately dismisses the fantasy that such a thing happened isn't as unconceivable as I first thought it was. The biography includes dustups with Princeton faculty prior to Hamilton settling on Columbia so anyone that groans at the inability to opt out of pun usage on LMM's part owes him an apology.
Jumped in the queue the other day about 20 minutes into the Hamilton San Fran sale and was 110,000+ in line. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Should I just count on never getting to see this?
Basically. I wish they would release an original Broadway cast DVD of it. I know it was filmed many many times for various things... I'm sure they are sitting on it.
There is a soccer team in Scotland called Hamilton Academical and I am pondering if I should buy a jersey. I certainly feel like a Hamilton Academic having spent an embarrassingly lengthy amount of time learning about him recently.
I bet it happens in a year or so after buzz starts dying a tad. Are all of the principals gone now? Any of the Schuylers still the same? Hercules?
Wife got into the queue right at 10am, was 19,872 in line. Three hours later she had five tickets to a June show. I checked the queue later that afternoon and it told me I was 112,000 in line. Got an email from SanFranTheater later that afternoon saying I could go to their site and skip the queue, so I checked their site and prices pretty much started at $700/ticket. Yeah, no thanks.
So... anyone else get super emotional listening now because we went from a nation of hyper-intelligent, rational men actually discussing/debating policy to what we have today? They weren't saints, but they were educated and damn sure cared about this country succeeding. No? Just me?
If you have Amex platinum, the concierge could help with getting tickets, they completely bought out a show in Chicago just for cardholders in February
to the news above, I don't know, Joshua Henry KILLED it in Chicago. Glad this thread was bumped, wife and I got our show in Dec. 27 in Chicago, and were BLOWN AWAY. Lived up to everything we had hoped. Great casting, incredible performances, just can't believe how good it was.
Bought tickets ten months ago for last night. Long wait was well worth it. Things with this much hype rarely come close to our expectations but this somehow exceeded them. God damn I might just buy tickets for January 2018
Same here. Have been waiting to go for a long damn time and it didn't disappoint at all. I want to come back to Chicago to see it again soon. I think it's been mentioned before but it was amazing to me how much King George stole every part of the play he was in even if he was just standing on stage while others were singing
