Just watched. It seemed a bit over the top with the cinematography, as if they were saying "Hey, we're the best, so here's some more." Otherwise, it was good, but slow. More to set the mood than advance the story.
I liked the EP. I enjoy it being in Italy and not needed subs As mentioned on the last page basically this EP is to set up where Hannibal is since the ending of the last season. Clearly they don't want us thinking its days or weeks since he left the States. Couple of things... 1) Bedelia didn't kill that patient in self defense. She murdered him and Hannibal helped cover it up. I feel like we find out Hannibal played mind games with her to push her to kill... like he did with Will. I feel like she is around Hannibal now to prove she has full control of her mind but we know this isn't the case. 2) "My husband loves the way I taste" Probably was intended to be a creepy line but I laughed my ass off. Thinking he was being invited to a threesome only made it better. Seems like Hannibal is prepping to kill Bedelia and she is aware it could be soon but is willing to roll the dice. 3) The conversation between Hannibal and Gideon was phenomenal. The scenes being in Black and White was a bit off. Curious if NBC said something about it. 4) I feel like this EP was not only catching us up on Hannibal but giving us more of Bedelia. She's clearly conflicted at this point. I think by leaving the seminar early she choose to run.. get away from Hannibal. But at the end she stays.. Is she falling deeper into his hands or is this the only way she insures survival for another day. Anyways a few of my thoughts on the EP. Seems like Will and Crawford both might of made it alive on the other end. I like that Hannibal claims to be over Will but it seemed like the previews suggest he's leaving hints for Will to find him.
Bedilia is clearly leaving clues for the FBI. Going to the same store and displaying the store name and logo at the train station. She knows they'll be monitoring all modes of transportation looking for Hannibal. I think Hannibal knows but she's trying to expedite their discovery. Like someone said above, her time is near
man how intense was the final 5 minutes.... my heart's still pumping... well we know for sure Will made it.. don't think anyone else did
:/ @TVMoJoe: Thurs b'cast scripted (A18-49/viewers) 1. Wayward Pines 1.2/4.2M 2. Bones 1.0/4.9M 3. Aquarius 0.8/3.7M 4. Hannibal 0.5/1.7M 5. B&B 0.3/908K
I enjoyed it but yeah - it was out there. I don't really have anything to add, but they devoted the first two eps to show how Hannibal is still sympathetic and devoted to Will and vice versa. I'm ready for shit to go down.
Just watched last night. It's as if they know they have the best conematography and are relying on it, rather than awesome strytelling + great cinematography. Moving way too slow and trying to set up too much suspense.
I'm glad I'm not the only one perplexed. Kept watching thinking I've missed a few eps or something bc it just doesn't seem coherent to me.
It's frustrating a bit but I'm still liking it. Less convo in dreams would be nice. Also, Bedilia had some big balls.
Things have been pretty methodical, but that is fine by me when it comes to this show. Definitely looks like things are going to pick up next week with the reintroduction of some major characters. That Italian lady was basically nutting while eating Hannibal's supper. Love those Mediterranean women.
Joe Adalian @TVMoJoe 1m1 minute ago Super low-rated (but critically beloved) #Hannibal won't be back on NBC for a fourth season. That said, @BryanFuller hints at more (1/2) Joe Adalian @TVMoJoe 1m1 minute ago 2/2 "A hungry cannibal can always dine again," @BryanFuller says in statement issued by NBC.
you gotta think that it survives somewhere else considering it had funding from other sources. hopefully we get AT LEAST one more season on a netflix or something (although, actually not netflix bc of their dump method).
“@DeLaurentiisCo: Gang, #Hannibal cancellation rumor is true. Important things to keep in mind: First, the remaining 10 episodes of S3 will air & are amazing!” “@DeLaurentiisCo: Second, we are exploring other options for future seasons. #Hannibal” “@DeLaurentiisCo: We hope to bring you future seasons. Let's focus on the amazing #Fannibal family we have formed, and move forward together! #Hannibal” “@DeLaurentiisCo: #Hannibal was always in danger of cancellation due to subject matter, and others have expressed interest in partnering with us.”
Maybe we can have another show that takes place on an island with no talent assclowns "strategizing" about how to rig their lame fucking popularity contests. American public proves its worth again.
Its not a mass market show. Its brutal to watch at times. I get why people don't watch. And now that it was moved to I think Fri even I have forgotten that an episode has aired. Still haven't watched the last one. I think it gets picked up pretty easily and goes till Fuller is done.
Yeah this is a show about a serial killer that is often very very hard to watch. I don't blame I people for not being info this show. It's still amazing that this was ever even a show to begin with
I can't believe we got 3 seasons of this show on NBC to begin with. I think we'll get more from another outlet but I am worried about Fuller not being signed on for a 4th season yet especially with him doing American Gods.
That's true and all. But now I'm committed and need an ending. Especially w Fuller being so bullish on it getting picked up and finishing in 5 or 6 seasons.
season hasnt been nearly as good as last two. they're being too artsy at this point. still watchable. will keep watching and hope they find a new outlet.
Got around to the latest episode last night. Definitely wish we could move on from the show being so dream-based. I get why that works, but it feels like every episode has been that way so far. I'm all about atmosphere but I wouldn't mind a little bit of plot here and there. Still all in on the show, just have liked the start of seasons 1 and 2 more.
I think the plot stuff has been fine. He's in a new city, killing people, Will is going after him, we're getting back story on the sister and hannibal's childhood, etc. I don't think it's nearly as slow as some in here are making it out to be.
All the artsy cinematography and verbose dialogue used to be achieved via a proper balance. Now it has taken over at the expense of my enjoyment of the show. Simply said, it's too much.
I think this every week but I think we have finally set the table from the aftermath of last seasons finale. Hopefully the plot gets a little more linear and we can get to this cat and mouse game will and Hannibal are gonna play. Wish it didn't take 4 eps to do so, but I'm ready to get the plot moving along.
Yeah I am ready for more Hannibal in the here and now, not just flashbacks from every single character's perspective.
So far this season, I find it where I am forcing myself to watch each episode in the anticipation greatness it coming. It just hasn't paid off to this point. I understand they are moving the pieces on the chess board to where they need to be to really move the plot along, but I'm not totally on board with using a mix of flashbacks and memories to do so. I hope this previous episode was the last treading water, and we springboard forward from here.
Yeah, it is crazy how they're playing with the timeline from the movies. You could tell that they obviously had jumped ahead to the movie version of Hannibal in some respects as soon as he got to Italy, but the spectacular death scene was right from the movie, at least up until Jack showed up. Fucking Jack opened up some serious whoopass there. He looks thinner this season, and he was a fucking beast tonight.
Now I'm starting to worry we won't get a 4th season. Dancy and Mads have been released from their contracts and Netflix and Amazon both passed on picking up a new season. Fuller said there are still possibilities though.
That and Fullers attention and time is shifting towards American Gods. While I'm extremely excited for AG - this is such a bummer. I'd almost rather have had no Hannibal at all, than being left twisted in the wind w no ending
I was really worried Will was going to get the same treatment that Ray Liotta did in Hannibal the movie. Holy fuck that was close. Fucking nasty.
Holy fuck. That episode was amazing. Cant wait for next week. Oh boy oh boy. It's weird how theyre mashing up the plot lines, but it still works.
