Katie Bell Angelina Johnson Lee Jordan I’m trying to remember the Ravenclaw Quidditch players because I know they came with Cho. I remember a Terry and Michael but can’t remember surnames. And one member that had a Stein in their name. Rosenstein or Goldstein? And of course that hoe ass Marietta who snitched
I think I need two more Gryffindors so I’m gonna guess the Patils since that would make sense and call uncle on the last Ravenclaw
If I’m reading them all right I think the Ravenclaws have all been mentioned - Padma Patil is one. The Gryffindor I haven’t seen is Alicia Spinnet, the third seeker. Corner
Also, I have to mention this every time we talk about the movies because it eats me up inside and I will rage if I don’t let it out. Death. Eaters. Can. Not. Fly. They can’t fucking fly. When people hear Harry say he saw Voldemort fly they’re in disbelief. Because no one can just fucking fly and it’s a terrifying thing
“Let’s finish this how we started, Tom. Together.” - cue merging into each other while flying around Hogwarts. Fuck right off filmmaker, sir.
I get so fucking angry. I don’t think I’ve ever watched that movie and not had to immediately start reading the book portion of that to get the correct ending back into my brain
And screw you guys that liked the third movie. They never explained why Harry's patrons was a stag and that's kind of a big deal. Who the fuck is Prongs 3rd movie?
If that ruined the entire movie for you, I fear for you when you watch [INSERT EVERY SINGLE OTHER MOVIE IN THE SERIES]. Cuaron made a fucking awesome, fun, edgy Harry Potter world in the wake of two children's movies.
It’s a huge part of the story. A central pillar of the plot - and it could have been so easily included. I’ve watched all the films and no single directorial choice has pissed me off any more than that one. Fuck that guy.
The part in the movie that doesn’t happen in the book that pisses me off the most. The whole Bellatrix fight scene at the Burrow. I was so fucking pissed at that scene
Everything before that is great. Then they ruined it. All they had to do follow the books but they just had to movie it up.
Yep. Everything else Battle of Hogwarts related from Hogsmeade up until Dumbledore’s scene was perfect. Then they took a big diarrhea shit all over it.
Because he didn’t have to worry about people freaking out about him taking some creative license with books people love
I get that. I actually do find his HP movies more enjoyable on rewatches as time goes on. Probably because I'm forgetting parts of the book he changed/left out. Although I'm willing to die on the hill of Kowalski being the difference maker for Fantastic Beasts.
JK wrote fantastic beasts as a film/screen play. She wrote Harry Potter as books. Big difference and it’s why the fantastic beasts series are going to be better movies then HP.
That change was minor and at least made some sense with adding something to the movies. Making Harry and Voldemort fly around hogwarts though, that was fucking horrible.
I loved the breakout from gringotts too. Harry telling Ron and Hermione he was going to the forrest was a slight annoyance but the scene was really emotional. As soon as Harry got up and ran away from Voldemort instead of putting in the invisibility cloak I knew I was going to hate the ending. In the books it’s awesome when Harry reveals himself and it’s him vs Voldemort with everyone watching watching in the great hall. Harry telling everyone not to do anything, I want him by myself. Calling him Tom and explaining to him why he’s about to lose. Damn that got me pumped up the first time I read it.
The explanation about all of their spells missing because he’s given them all the same protection his mother gave him as well. It was fucking perfect.
Listening to today's Binge Mode episode brings me back, got some goosebumps as they read through chapter 32, when Wormtail performs the ritual to resurrect Voldemort . Not the biggest fan of Jason's jokes or Mallory's awful laughs but their literary analysis is great and they do a fantastic job of selecting which key points in the books to read through to the audience. I miss not knowing this plot and reading through it the first time. Makes me angry to think of what we will never find out from GRRM in ASOIAF.
Oh does the litt-el babyy not like moi grating inaccurate imprezzion? I've always liked Fleur, and her devotion to Bill post-mauling only solidified my opinion.
GOAT Binge Mode episode (to date) posted today, listening to them recounting the end of OOTP. Brings me back...
My 7 year old requested that we make Harry Potter our bed time reading about a year ago. It's fun seeing her get shook by the same stuff that shook me as a kid. Highly recommended if anyone's got kids that age.
I feel like when you get to PoA and beyond that you’ll hit points where you’re like “You have to stay stay awake, we must keep going”
Warning: Reading them aloud will absolutely make the emotional moments 10x more emotional and you will probably cry in front of your kids. Just be prepared.
We're a little out of order. We watched movies 123 and she was scared to watch 4 so we started reading. After GoF we went back to 1 and we're halfway through Chamber now. She's a hufflepuff and was really happy that her underrepresented house had a hero in Gof. I knew she would be devastated for Cedric but she's got to toughen up if we're going to make it through this.
