Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer Was just revealed where the split is. "Part I will end at about Chapter 24 of the book, with Voldemort gaining possession of the Elder Wand, one of the three Deathly Hallows that allow the bearer to conquer death." http://www.joblo.com/the-final-potter-film-finds-its-split
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer Seems like part two will be really short but maybe they show everything like Ron/Hermione going down to the chamber. By the way I just finished re-reading the series and is there a most pointless series of events than the 5th one? Feels like time just stopped and they needed a filler book.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer Still pissed off about that one room in the Department of mysteries. She said it had some significance but I took that to mean they'd be going back to it.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer Agree about book 5. The majority of the time at the Black house seemed like filler. The chapter at the dinner table is by far the most boring chapter in the series.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer Book 5 wasnt as good as 4 6 or 7 but Sirius was a good character i was p upset when he died
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer Just doesn't seem like much happened of importance. First one set up everything Second one he destroyed the first horcrux Third one he finds out Pettigrew and winds up saving him in the seventh Fourth one Voldemort accidentally creates the 7th horcrux Fifth one he really just learns that neither can live while the other survives Sixth one finds out about the horcruxes Seventh is just nonstop action
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer 7th one with taking Harry's blood. When he performs Avada Kedavra in the forest and Harry goes to Kings Cross that is what partially allows him return. Voldemort killed the piece of him that lived inside Harry that he put in their when he took Harry's blood in the cemetery.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer I thought that one was created when he tried killing him in the first place. And the taking of the blood only strengthened the bond?
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer Did anyone ever find the trailer they showed at Comic Con?I heard it showed the part with Voldemort removing the wand from the grave and it suppose to be an awesome scene.Damn i cant wait to see these movies
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer I really interested in seeing how they are gonna introduce the different aspects that they left out and changed in the previous movies, I really didn'T like the HBP that much because of all the changes.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer i mentioned it before but they are going to have a tough time reintroducing dobby. By this time in the books he had already changed from annoying pest who has obsessed with harry to a loyal friend who always seemed to help harry when he least expected it. In the movies with all their editing dobby is still considered an annoying pest. its going to take away from dobbys funeral big time if he just shows up randomly and saves harry's ass. because why the fuck would harry break down over dobby's sacrifice if in his mind dobby was just an annoying pest.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer Yeah, in book number 4 he gave harry the gilly weed, while in the movie Neville did. In book five he gives Harry Christmas presents, and this isn't mentioned in the movie. Then in Book 6 he found out Draco was going to the room of requirement, and they totally skipped that in the movie. I've never thought of that.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer This is so true.Maybe they can have him do something at the beginning of the movie to connect us to dobby but its just not gonna feel right. This and introducing the other horcruxes are the only things that worry me about this movie. And i agree with what was said earlier that if they mess up the Snape back story then it will completely ruin the movie.I really hope they realize how important this part of the book is.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer the resolution to Snape's arc and his resultant place in the entire series may be my favorite thing from the books. If they fuck that up I don't care what the rest of the movies end up being like, it'll be shit for me.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer they could always have him as part of the beginning of the movie where he introduces other horcruxes somehow? How the fuck is Harry supposed to know to look for a Hufflepuff tea cup or the diadem of Ravenclaw? I really don't see how they introduce those horcruxes at this point. After the 6th movie, I wouldn't be surprised if they left them out all together.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer I have never read letters printed in ink with such care as I have in the "Prince's Tale" Chapter. If they screw up that chapter, I'm done with WB films forever.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer the movies piss me off because they change shit just for the sake of changing it, and it ends up fucking them later down the line. what was the point of leaving Dobby almost entirely out of the movie series? He's one of most HP fans' favorite characters and he played a very influential role in the whole plot. And what was the point of burning down the Burrow? They just added that for the hell of it.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer it really wouldn't be that hard to introduce. they can just make a reference that to there is a horcrux for each of the houses of Hogwarts. i cant remember the exact significance as to why the teacup was meaningful, but the diadem is the symbol of ravenclaw and has been missing for thousands of years. They better not leave them out of the movie because the Hufflepuff Tea-cup scene has the potential to be awesome, with breaking into Gringotts and escaping on a dragon. The Diadem might be the most important horcrux to mention in the movie because it is the reason as to why Harry goes back to Hogwarts and sets up the final fight scene.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer they have both scenes, because the preview shows Gringotts and the room of requirement. I just don't know how they introduce those horcruxes at this point. There's no significance to the tea cup except that it belonged to Helga Hufflepuff and Volemort thought it would be badass to make a horcrux out of an artifact that belonged to each house (except Griffindor). It's one of the memories in Half Blood Prince that they left out of the movie.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer I was thinking about that while i was reading the book that there was no specific Griffindor horcrux, but it could be argued that Harry was the Griffindor Horcrux, since he embodied the traits of what Griffindor was. Harry embodies Griffindor more than a teacup embodies Hufflepuff
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer I see what you're saying, but that's looking too much into it I M O. Harry wasn't intended to be a horcrux
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer you're right, but its just an interpretation that i guess can be justified on some level. but now that i think about it, it is going to be weird how they introduce the horcruxes in the 7th movie. Now that i think about it, i wonder how they will introduce the Teacup and Diadem in the movie. do you recall how they introduce them in the book?
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer the tea cup is introduced in a memory from the 6th book. the idea of a horcrux being a ravenclaw artifact is also introduced in the 6th book, but the actual diadem isn't introduced until near the end of the 7th book. Harry figures it out when he sees a picture of Ravenclaw in their common room (before the big battle), and confirms it when he talks to the Ravenclaw ghost (in the middle of the battle).
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer gotcha, thanks.. it's going to be weird how they introduce the teacup since they left the memory out of the 6th movie. maybe they'll have flashback or something and introduce the memory, but more likely they will just act as if harry knew all along that he was looking for this teacup.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer he confirms it is an item belonging to ravenclaw because voldemort puts one of the carrows in the ravenclaw commonroom waiting to catch harry there. the gray ghost then confirms that she helped riddle find it, and harry suddenly recalls putting an old tiara (the unbeknown to him diadem)and a wig on an old warlock's bust on top of a cabinet in the room of requirement when he hides the advanced potionmaking book from snape at the end of book 6. /potternerd
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer dumbledore writes a letter to harry to be sent in the eventual case of his death. wha-lah, no flashback required.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer If they do go this way it will probably come from Dumbledores will. It will just be like an extra gift they get and a riddle they have to solve
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer probably. they never introduced scrimgour (sp) so the whole cryptic will thing will not be as much of an issue in terms of hiding it from other people. Most likely they will just make one of the teachers the executor of dumbledore's will and that person will give harry magically sealed note explaining shit
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer Yeah it could easily be Hagrid who gives them the gifts. Dumbledore always trusted him with stuff he wouldn't trust with others. Especially when it is dealing with Harry.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer ya, I really liked the chapter in 6 where he was introduced, it was awesome seeing the interaction with the muggle minister
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer Have gone on a couple road trips lately and have been listening to several of the audio books. Man they really did a horrible job on the movies. Left so much out.
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer that is a great chapter hopefully they can try to put it in the last movie
Re: Harry Potter 7 Trailer Not that this thread needs a little more queer or anything, but I just wanted to say that I also really loved him in The Count of Monte Cristo... Really a great actor. Your post reminded me of how much I need to watch Gladiator again. It has been too long.
