Maybe you like flat, concrete jungles. Maybe it's your fucking thing. Maybe I like a little beauty in my life.
I have been. I’ve lived in both places. Saying Houston is a sweaty ballsack while Dallas gets hotter temps in the summer is just dumb. They’re both hot. but it’s a people thing for me when it’s between these two cities. Which is probably also why we disagree.
The whole point of the post was that both dallas and houston are ugly concrete jungles that would be improved by moving to a more scenic location. But both are bottom tier cities. Houston has less high paying jobs, worse traffic, and has marginally worse weather due to the humidity.
One could conceivable argue that of the 10 largest cities in the country that the bottom 3 are all Texas cities. Dallas & San Antonio are for sure fighting for that bottom spot & Houston might want to argue with Phoenix or San Jose, both of which have some significant advantages in their favor (but also some really shitty disadvantages) But, as far as visiting, San Jose is the only city I’m going to argue would be worse but you are also close to San Fran, world class wine, and other awesome shit.
if the best thing you can say about Houston is that it's better than Dallas, are you really saying anything?
I saw someone say TX leg wouldn't get to any weed legislation cause they would be too busy with covid (lol doing what exactly wrt covid?) and all they're doing is passing anti choice and anti voting bills. I do love how Texas/Texans put on some front like the state is anti big government this and that when really they have ridiculous government involvement. DON'T TREAD ON US! Unless it's voting, right to choose, weed, gambling, public lands. Oh yeah I can't even buy liquor in my county very cool.
Dan patrick posted his top 20-25 priorities and they were all parlor fever dreams (abortion, bathroom sanctity, trans in kid's sports, stopping minorities from voting, etc.)
I couldn’t find the other texas is shitty state but we’re starting to get some real bangers coming outta Austin.
One of the most conservative people imaginable is now being called a Rino for not passing enough anti trans legislation last session. There is no bottom.
I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt, but is that actually more of a issue with foreign investors buying up property and raising housing costs without actually using it? I know that is an actual problem in major cities. In Ontario and British Columbia, two places we were considering trying to start immigrating to, unless you are a permanent resident you have to pay an extra 20% on any housing.
Desantis said it’s about farming and security around army bases to his audience at the villages, which they loved. The texas bill goes further than that.
Also a bill to curtail foreign land investment already passed last session unanimously. This is all about being racist for the base who see people who don’t look like them moving into their suburbs.
Always funny how republicans are so willing to be walked all over by their peers. Every day must be a new emasculation
