According to Variety, porn industry drama The Deuce is set in the 1970s and '80s, exploring the legalisation and rise of the porn industry in New York. The project is inspired by twin brothers who became fronts for mob control of the sex industry - Franco will reportedly play both brothers. Meanwhile, the other pilot is an as-yet-unnamed Capitol Hill project from both Simon and journalist Carl Bernstein, who gained fame for his reporting on the Watergate scandal. The Capitol Hill drama is described as a modern-day exploration of the influence of money on national governance. Noble is also attached to this drama, in addition to a creative term featuring Ed Burns (The Wire) and William F. Zorzi. It's set to enter production over the next year, after The Deuce.
