And Willa is back at the house moving the couch around to get ready for a party without a care in the world.
Just watched Run Rabbit Run on Netflix last night. So weird to see Shiv in her native Australian accent. Funny to see many of her Shiv expressions in the film.
Just finished bingeing the whole show over the past month. Roman was real fuckin weird but also a pretty good character until Logan died then he lost his shit and was truly awful on screen. Prior to that he was just a fuckin weirdo. Kendall I hated from episode one and that really didn't change the entire show. Even when he was in beaten puppy mode really didn't feel any sympathy for the guy. Fuck him and glad he didn't end up getting the company Shiv I honestly was hoping would get the company, if one of them HAD to get it. As a character I liked her up until mid-season 3 when she was an absolute cunt to Tom. At least prior to her being used by Mattson she was completely open and honest about being a terrible wife to Tom Fucking love Tom. Tom and Greg had some great scenes together. Greg was a mumbling, rambling, using 18 words instead of 1, fucking idiot but his innocence and naivety made him likeable to me. Yelled at him to shut the fuck up about 80 times but still he wasn't a human piece of shit like the majority of the characters Pretty entertaining show overall. As far as "life of the uber rich business centric shows" go I'd put this over Billions. Good show but not cracking any Top 10s not even just HBO shows.
Binged all 4 seasons in a week. Most definitely one of the best. Theme song and its variations were killer.
Awesome show. Underrated part in this thread that I've read at least is the awesome set pieces. I loved seeing all the places they visited. What sticks out to me most from the series is when Ken did a Chappaquiddick. Even if you could kinda see it coming it was a gripping episode.
Just finished rewatch #1, unlike the first time felt like none had any redeeming qualities whatsoever.
One thing that’s unclear about pierpont is that last season it was pretty clear it was an American firm with a London outpost, but now they’re having all merger conversations out of the London office?
If I can amend this, Stewey is the best (I like weird sex I like bad drugs I'm a complicated individual)
This may be skewed due to the thread I'm posting in, but I haven't seen either Succession or Billions. Hear good things on both. Which should I go with?
Early seasons of Billions was super fun. If you’re in the mood to pay attention and be into the storyline I’d for sure go succession. If you want some background fun TV that’s an easy binge I’d say billions.
Was on a work trip earlier this month and this guy's voice sounded exactly like someone from a TV show, but I couldn't put a face to the voice until a week after I got back. I knew it was a character who was a a suck up. Then it hit me that it was cousin Greg
I just finished season one. the bolded is why it's so fun. Everybody is either a piece-of-shit or a dumbass POS. There is not one character I moderately admire. It's great.
I like Greg and Tom. Shiv was my early favorite (because hot) but boy her stock dropped quickly culminating when she was "dancing" at Kendall's party.
I could never stand Shiv. That was probably the point, but I wanted her voted off the island from day one
How in the world can you like Uber Cuck Tom? Don't really care for Shiv. I thought I would like Roman's character, but he's such a little shit
A lot of the early takes on this show were so terrible and I don't think people understood what they were watching. Show was great from start to finish.
Nope, every character in the show was an asshole. Just like the titular character in The Penguin, I loved that there was no redeeming qualities in those people. But I hated Madson the most. Interesting for two or three episodes, after that his scenes dragged on and on.
I'd never heard the phrase 'scheduled flights' until he complained about 'heavily refridgerated cheeses."
The show did great in making you feel for/root for completely awful people routinely. The closest thing to a non-bad person was Logan's latin wife but she was no santa either
I interpreted Greg the egg’s character as representing the audience, fish out of water, interloper to the donor class.
Finished the finale earlier tonight after watching the series over the last 6-8 weeks. While I really enjoyed a good bit of it, the show started to drag imo. The characters were all different levels of incompetent and unlikable. The final vote was obvious and stale. (Although the sidebar conference was pretty visceral.) It can be summed up best by Roman saying “We are all bullshit…this is all just bullshit”.
