Yes, it's probably premature, but I don't care. I think it's a good idea to keep the books and the show in separate discussions, so please keep all discussion of the upcoming HBO show in this thread as opposed to the Song of Ice and Fire thread. Also, please keep in mind that many who will watch/want to watch this show have not read the books, so use spoilers when appropriate. Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread the teaser trailer is badass. we had another one of these threads but they started getting full of spoilerrs and shit
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread Jaime and Tyrion have the potential to be award-winning roles
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread Ah, didn't know there was another thread. I thought there was only one on the books. Oh well. Agreed. Cersei too.
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread There was a 15 minute preview for media the other week. Every review I read seemed very positive. This show is going to be awesome. People seemed kinda disappointed in Jaime though. Probably were the highest on Danny
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread can someone give me cliffs on what the show is gonna be about
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread with finals being over i'm gonna go through the books for a 4th time fucking george and his laziness
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread How easy of a read are the books? I want to read them, but I'm taking 21 units this semester and don't want to spend a lot of time on difficult to read books.
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread They are great books man I don't really think of books in terms of difficulty. If you enjoy, you go with it
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread started the series again in anticipation for this and am about to finish Game of Thrones. I'm finding it much more enjoyable since I mostly know who everyone is and have a better grasp of the geography. My first time through the series I was often getting confused on the secondary characters (the non POV's) who were all named Ser something or another.

Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread the best series of books ever written and never finished (yet) the ultimate must read even if you're too lame to read
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread I just started reading the Dexter books. Will check these out after I'm finished with those
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread political manuerving of the most ruthless nature with some of the most complex characters you'll observe set in an alternative medieval period, also full of rough language, sex and violence Once you get to about pg 50-60 of the first book, you wont want to put them down
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread Not reading the 4th book till the 5th one comes out. Pretty excited for this show though.
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread would it be a horrible decision to watch the show before I read the books? that's normally how I operate. I'll check out the medium that requires the lesser time commitment, find out if I like it, then go all in and read/watch everything I can find.
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread they are long and a lot of names seem to get thrown out there but the first book has been very easy to read
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread just realized after watching the behind the scenes thing in the OP that I've been pronouncing Tyrion's name wrong the whole time. Will probably find more than a few more once the show airs.
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread Old Nan is Dead i keep reading that as goat actress passes away. i spend way to much time on message boards. Feb 2, 2011 GOT Actress Margaret John Passes Away The 'Game of Thrones' family is mourning the loss of actress Margaret John, who died Tuesday, February 2, at the age of 84. Her career in television and filmed spanned more than 50 years before she took on the role of Old Nan on in the new series. GOT creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss had this to say about her: "We were deeply saddened to hear about Margaret's passing. She was a warm and wonderful person, and she was completely fantastic in her scenes with Isaac. We wish she could see them...but many people will, and they will love her. We will miss her terribly."
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread You'll never read either then. I hate that fat fuck with a passion.
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread BTW, the motherfucker has time to get married http://grrm.livejournal.com/196160.html FUCK YOURSELF GRRM
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread Not sure how they make this as a series. The first book is basically an 800 page kick in the nuts. I'm on the third book now.
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread Are they planning to do one book a season for 4 seasons? I can't imagine them fitting one book into 10 episodes.
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread I think this might be a new trailer Game Of Thrones Clip Trailer (HBO)
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread Bumping this thread to only talk about the show, whether it's for people who haven't read the books (me) or people who have but just want to talk about the show. No spoilers in relation to the book itt please.
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread I am kind of torn on watching the preview tonight. On one I hand I can't wait to get a glimpse but on the other hand I know it is going to make the 2 week wait for the actual show very long.
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread Enjoyed the preview and from what I remember(been a few years since I read the first book) it seemed to follow the book exactly. I am so stoaked for this show but not sure how they will make this into a series. Has it been addressed if "game of thrones" will just be the first season? Will the other books be the following seasons?
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread The 15 minute preview covers the prologue and half of the first chapter. Not sure how they're going to fit the whole first book in. Hopefully the first and last episode are 2 hours long because there's a lot of material to cram into 10 episodes.
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread The 1st season is supposed to be the 1st book "Game of Thrones". Don't know about the others.
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread Hopefully they do a book per season. Maybe that'll push him to get the 6th and 7th books finished in the next 5 years so they can continue on with the series.
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread Are the books fictitious or is this all based on a true story?
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread Really enjoyed the preview. Will absolutely be watching this show every week. Preview was just a lot of fun iyam.
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread was the preview a section of the first episode? i didnt really want to spoil the first episode
Re: HBO's Game Of Thrones -- Official Thread From what I understand, yes it is. I didn't watch for the same reason.
