Havukruunu has released a new single from their forthcoming EP. i love everything this band has ever done. they are the best Finnish metal band going right now, and also fascist-free, which is unfortunately quite hard to find in Finnish metal. if you like Uada, you should like this.
we don't discuss a lot of hardcore here, but if you guys ever have a chance to see Knocked Loose, don't miss it. saw them recently at Psycho Las Vegas and was blown away. one of the most frenetic, crazy shows i've been to. ridiculously violent and fun.
i find it funny that the Carcass album vegetable artwork is giving all the tr00 br0tal people...ahem....heartburn.
Haven't been to a concert since COVID started. Just got tix for Opeth/Mastodon in Asheville. If I'm gonna die, seems like a pretty solid last experience. At least the venue requires everybody to be vaccinated.
Speaking of which, why can't they make the fucking vaccination card the same size as a credit card? I switched to a lightweight wallet and the width basically doubles with this thing folded up in it.
thanks for the heads up. i will definitely be buying tickets to this. the new WITTR album is fucking incredible. i wish i liked Uada's recent material more. Full of Hell is pure chaos.
Any of you guys into Gallowbraid or Calladan Brood? Kind of melodic atmospheric black metal. Got into them both over the last couple weeks. Calladan Brood is Malazan Book of the Fallen themed, which is one of my favorite book series.
Heard Caladan Brood get a lot of hype but they aren’t on spotify so haven’t heard much. I think the Weimar Beer Belly posted Gallowbraid a while back
They’re on Bandcamp. I think you can listen to most of it free. But yeah that is a bummer it’s not on Spotify. I probably prefer Gallowbraid so far but they’re both good.
You guys ever heard the French post Metal band NINE ELEVEN? Zegema Beach just released an album of theirs that was recorded in 2016 and it’s really some of the best post metal/hardcore shit I’ve heard.
I’ve been slow to check it out. I loved Owls but the first couple singles I heard from this one were meh.
I didn’t think it was as good as Owls but I wouldn’t call it bad. The singles work more in the context of the album. It probably needs a couple listens for me.
more kinetic, a fair amount of strings and stuff. It kinda sounds like Mono playing Hardcore if that helps
Not sure if they’ve been mentioned in here but I’ve been really digging the Japanese band PHARMACIST. Thrashy death/goregrind —
If any of you are thinking of going to the Tool Tour in 2022, General Public tix go on sale tomorrow. However, if you buy a $50 Tool Army membership (with shirt and poster) you get a presale code to buy four tickets now almost anywhere. I was able to get front row aisle seat in Miami on the mezzanine center. So it’s definitely worth the $50 to get the pre-sake code even to re-sell the tix because Tool usually sells out pretty quickly.
The verses are a little Brann generic, but I like the riff and bridge of “Teardrinker” a lot. Excited for the album in a few weeks.
Brann's voice sounds great. Song is so-so otherwise. There's some weird bass pedal thing in there that sounds like it should be in a Daft Punk song
im consistently impressed by deathcore's ability to have the best vocalists and the worst all while remaining incredibly cheesy and more often than not pretty lame.
It's that added 10% hardcore approach, makes for a good death metal vocal delivery. Never understood the desire to add an emo vocalist/vocals.
this album is great. this label only trades in excellent music. Worm's 'Foreverglade' is coming out on 20 Buck Spin soon. excellent sounding death/doom. https://listen.20buckspin.com/album/foreverglade
i think i'm getting old. the new inferi album is too much for my ears i swear that i wont be the guy that turns against metal because old
but for real, that lorna shore ep from earlier this year is really good (for deathcore). that vocalist is the only person ive heard that i can comfortably call better than dickie allen.
i listened to like 15 minutes of this album just for shits and giggles. it's actually not bad. strong Transilvanian Hunger vibes. but the band is named after a warcraft character, and the album name is uber fart. why do this?
