with all the deathcore talk, i figured i’d share my recreation of the burnt CDs i kept in my car my Sr year of HS.
Death Prayer just finished a preorder for some pretty amazing releases, they usually specialize in “raw black metal” but they switched it up a bit with this batch: This reminds me of Ved Buens Ende/Virus but a little more stripped down and this is just fucking beautiful death metal with tinges of death-industrial/noise
Pretty big release week this Friday. New Amorphis, Cult of Luna, Napalm Death, Immolation, Voivod, and Zeal & Ardor. Edit: Scratch that, Immolation is next week. Still though.
the new Immolation singles sound fucking great. those guys never disappoint. i loved their last album. Cult of Luna will be good too.
their new album rules. it’s grabbing me much more than the last one. they’re so good live too. i saw them monday night with Imperial Triumphant and Mortiferum Spoiler
Spirit Adrift has a new single out. reminds me of Metallica’s black album in the best way such a good band
this Immolation album has proved to me that you don't have to fuck with the meat and potatoes death metal formula to make interesting music You don't need to inject a bunch of weird Avant garde stuff to keep the sound fresh just write sick riffs and good songs
Acts Of God sounds like yet another Immolation album, and that is a very good thing. they haven’t really experimented with their sound since Here In After and they don’t need to.
Hath has a new album out soon, and the singles sound really good. these guys were a thread favorite back in 2019 with ‘…Of Rot and Ruin’
I kind of don't see the crossover between the two unless there is some kind of software that Epic wanted. Maybe the ability to have individual artists make Fortnite skins that are available for purchase? I can't imagine it's for music integration into Epic games
nice, think that's what i got. i'm such a snob now. if it's just a solid color variant i can't bring myself to buy it. would rather a standard black LP than a generic solid yellow or something.
I don't remember Wound sounding so much like ATG, did they change sounds on the latest release or am I misremembering things like Roger Clemens?
I liked most of the album, just surprised it was so close to ATG. Vocally it's damn near a total rip off. Musically around track 3 they start in with what could be ATG riffing. I love ATG so this is fine by me.
this shit is utterly immense. very strong ‘recommend’ for everyone in the thread. mid-paced, atmospheric death metal with excellent songwriting and some black metal-influenced riffing. if you like Slugdge or Sulphur Aeon, you will love this.
it’s really cool, but it’s not metal. i love hearts of space too, so i just really vibe with the style. definitely something i’ll have to be in the mood for.
Guys.... I've been listening to this band Knocked Loose. Holy Shit! The album "Laugh Tracks" and their newest one are AMAZING. "Laugh Tracks" is definitely in my top 5 heaviest albums I've ever heard (and I've heard a LOT of heavy albums). Give them a try and give them a chance!
They're said to have a 2021 release but I can't find it. This is from 2020, don't know shit about them other than I likey.
Sure would have been nice for Sarcasm to return after 20 years and sound like they did in the 90's instead of what they've become. Gonna do my best to listen to the new one tonight and not be disappointed.
My favorite track from this band is on an older release, maybe debut? Not 100% on their discography. Anyway..
yeah, they are awesome. one of the best live acts I’ve seen. just wild energy, felt legit dangerous (in a good way) at times. I’m seeing them again in early May. i actually prefer their middle album A Different Shade of Blue. check out Mistakes Like Fractures…it’s my favorite song of theirs.
