are there many differences in terms of music availability? i personally go with spotify because it keeps my podcasts and music in the same app.
I use Spotify. If it’s not there, I go to Bandcamp. Then YouTube music. Then if I like it enough I’ll get a physical copy, unless one’s not available for a reasonable price.
Had wrist surgery #2 last week, so bored (and stupid) I've started hand sewing 8 new jackets. I should probably learn how to use a sewing machine or find some children to exploit.
Some are themed, a couple will have more than one back patch as logo patches don't take up enough room. One will be nothing but albums released in 1984 (the year I got into metal), one will be all thrash, one all Swedish, one only bands I've seen live. Twisted Sister, Laaz Rockit, Atheist, Power Trip (again), Omen, Queensryche, Entombed, Gorguts, Dismember and this Archgoat because it's too awesome not to use. My current unused back patches are Cryptopsy, Absu, Misery, Entombed (different logo), Blind Guardian, Solstice, Rigor Mortis, Suffocation, Whiplash, Benediction, Grave (x2), Hypocrisy, Necrophobic, Death, Laaz Rockit (double), Incantation, Anathema and Sabbat (not the shitty Japanese band).
i’m currently working on sewing patches on a denim skirt i have and it’s going well. my next project is adding a back patch to a black dress.
I’ve been accruing patches for a while to do a black metal vest. But I haven’t started it yet, don’t even have the vest atm
A couple interesting releases today. Whoredom Rife - Den Vrede Makt (black metal) Beaten to Death - Sunrise Over Rigor Mortis (grindcore)
You've already got followers, very nice! Sound is great, nearly polished enough to call you a sell out. The rappish intro threw me off. Key Bumps and Sapphic will be your hits. Stone Cold intro is well placed.
this is your megahit, I'd let kreashawn do stuff to me. I don't know why but I suddenly want to listen to meat shits.
i kind of forget that i have that posted lmao. i got the idea to do it, then just sat down and made it. and no other streaming services will let me host it
Well it happened, I knew it eventually would. I download a lot of new releases every week to see what I'm interested in pursuing further. Not wanting anything to slip through the cracks I download a ton of unheard of garage bands too. So I find this band, new 2024 album kicks ass, I need to know if they have other albums and a little background on the band themselves. I can't find shit on them, not on Metal Archives or anything. So I dig deeper and deeper and discover I just got taken by a goddamn AI metal band. All songs written and performed by AI. I feel bamboozled.
It should have leaked already but hasn't so I'm a little bitter. Their albums from 5-10 years ago are great too.
I'm on my third attempt at sewing this small Entombed patch on straight. I'm cutting the fucking thing in half if it doesn't work this time just to curb any desire I have to do it a fourth time.
I don't have a problem YOU have a problem. Can't decide if I go Creeping Death for the next slot or Xoth I threw on upside down. Xoth being hometown boys I feel that's the right direction. Back
Some progress so far. Changing game plans as I go... There's nothing on the front yet. Recruited machine help to get the back patches going. Back patches take me about 3-4 hours to hand sew each. I'm not exactly slaving away though. On average if I hand sew everything a completed jacket will take me about 30-35 hours.
Spending this week going through a few discographies. Immolation. Really enjoyed their last couple but don't remember caring for much of their catalogue. Confirmed, this band is grossly overrated. Lyrics feel like they're written by a middle schooler. Some of the most unimaginative repetitive riffs ever assembled. There are subject matters other than Jesus, guys. That being said they'll have a banger or two on each album. Best album - Here In After. Incantation. Seen them live multiple times, usually in support of another, better band. Always thought of them as a poor mans Immolation. I had it backwards all this time, Incantation is the better band. Songs about more than one subject matter, songs containing more than one riff, what's not to like? Best album - Diabolical Conquest. Acid Witch. Like Immolation they really only want to talk about one thing, in their case it's Halloween. Stoner/Doom generally isn't for me, and it likely still isn't, but listening to this after going through all those Immolation albums I found myself enjoying it. Some of their releases suffer from poor production. Best album - Rot Among Us. Electric Wizard. Just kidding, no amount of boredom could get me to suffer through that. Best album - The one you didn't listen to.
I just found out that Wormed is releasing a new album next month and I am happier than a pig in shit.
both the singles have been so good i can’t wait to catch them at texas domination fest in a few months
Yeah about Immolation, he's just stating his opinion. I completely disagree, but taste is taste and everyone's can be different. I have my own takes about Opeth and Sowen, but it's just an opinion
This album is great, not super familiar with them other than by reputation but I quite enjoyed it. the vocal delivery reminds me of early 2000s Zao.
Darkthrone discography is a tough pill to swallow in one day. Learned nothing I didn't know already know before, Tran Hunger is the best out of the first three BM albums. Darkthrone really makes me appreciate Immortal's early stuff. Darkthrone's middle stuff is pretty bad. Best album - The death metal one.
I'm going through all the 90's Brazilian death metal. I almost feel like I owe Immolation an apology, so much of this is some of the most repetitive pointless tripe in existence. At least Krisiun, Rebaelliun and to a degree Abhorrence were good at it.
