i never was into Twisted Sister or hair metal, but today i learned Dee Snyder has a solo band that makes very solid traditional heavy metal with none of the embarrassing hair metal stuff. i was suprised a.) at how good this song was, and b.) how much power he still has in his voice. AIP would like
“Stay Hungry” was the first album I ever owned on tape, and it was fucking awesome. I can still listen to it, mostly.
My goofy ass friend posted some meme on Facebook that was "replace one of the words in a punk band's name with the word boner" I had Boner Parade and Combat Wounded Boner off the top of my head.
the new Funeral Mist record is fucking incredible. what an album. The Real Roy Williams the Weimar Beer Belly
it's the solo, side project band of Arioch aka Mortuus, the lead singer of Marduk. just one of the most punishing and evil sounding albums I've heard in a longggg time.
My crusty rapper friend.. kinda, he’s kind of a dick but still a friend though I suppose. Whatever though, he’s playing a show with these folks from pdx.
Stay Hungry wasn't my first cassette but it's what got me into metal in '84. Has little in common with Ratt and Poison.
Abigail Williams touring with Ghost Bath this fall. Some dates, most importantly the atlanta show, will include Revocation. Def going to that.
So UDC recorded a full album. It needs to be mastered in my bass player’s opinion. I think it sounds fine personally but he wants to tweak some of the levels. He was out of the country in Turkey studying for the past couple years so the whole thing got put on hold. He’s been talking to someone at Savage Magic records recently. After a quick check they seem to put out a bunch of lame hipster rock albums but if they’re willing to put out a thrash d-deat crust album on vinyl fuck it. I’m in. We still need to figure out album artwork and everything so it might be a while. He said he could get it up on Spotify too. I don’t give a fuck about getting profits at all I just want our stuff out there. It’s a full LP. It might might take awhile but if we can get it done I’ll mail an LP to any of my thread homies on my bill.
It doesn't suck. There are some cool parts and the dude's singing voice has really improved since their first album. There's just something missing. Maybe I need to listen to it more.
What doesn't rule is this goddamn Helloween I'm listening to. How does anyone make it through Keys II?
Fart stinks like a motherfucker, RIP. Back in high school, my buddy and I pooled our money together to buy his signature Pearl snare drum. Thing is deep as hell, covered with spikes, and looks like rattlesnake skin . It's still being used 12 years later.
We were immature kids playing punk/hardcore shit. My drummer had a bunch of pics cut out of porno mags taped all over his bass drum. His set was janky as fuck but damn he could thrash them. Sometimes at a show something would fall apart and he’d have to ask to borrow a cymbal stand or some shit from a band we were playing with. Best drummer in town or the metro area in my opinion at the time at least. He’s not playing these days but I still think he could challenge most folks around here.
"What's wrong with your miiiiiiiiiiiind?" -Pantera Revisiting all my 80's stuff. Listened to the first EP, fantastic. Then I went through the first full length, boner inducing. Got to Keys I, still impressed. I cannot find what people like about Keys II to save my life.
Maybe I'm the retard, both I & II have a lot of reviews on MA and only 1% separates them overall. Then again there's multiple people over there that rated "Chameleon" over 90%.
Still on my everything 80's quest. Went through Toxik "World Circus" which I've always adored and am very familiar with. Was never big on the follow up album "Think This" until tonight. I don't know if it's because I've taken too many pills or what, but this album is amazing! It's never clicked until tonight, but I'm sure glad it did. Their transition from speed/thrash to tech thrash was not a mistake after all. Now I'm going through Znowhite "Act Of God", which I know very well and put up there with Atheist Piece/Unquestionable and Vendetta Go And Live, Stay And Die as near perfect albums.
My friend just got married and he’s on his honeymoon. He posted a pic and he’s rocking a Katatonia shirt. One of my all time favorite bands so I’m just gonna plug some shit in for the hell of it because the pic got me listening to some of their stuff that I hadn’t pulled up in a while. I know I’ve done this before but I don’t care.
there is a new radio fenriz one of the first albums featured. vocals are kind of annoying for me but i like the rest.
these guys are pretty legendary black thrash. a lot of bands cite them as influence. could never get into them.
