Hi guys, I don't post a ton but I have been on the board for close to ten years.

I'm posting this as my best buddy from college recently received unimaginably terrible news, that his 8 year old daughter has terminal spinal cord cancer.

She recently underwent surgery to remove as much as possible however, they were only able to remove a portion of the tumor due to the location on her spine. She lost some movement in her arm and leg and is undergoing PT and will be starting proton radiation therapy beginning tomorrow. The family hopes to enroll her in a clinical trial and prove the doctors wrong, but in the best case it's not going to be a quick recovery as there is currently no cure.

The family has already started receiving some ridiculous bills and it has only been a few weeks so appreciate any help from the TMB community in helping out this special little girl in her fight. These guys are like family to me, so anything you can do to keep them in your thoughts or to contribute to this gofundme would mean a lot.

Thanks, I know everyone has different financial circumstances and it's a lot to ask to donate to a stranger but appreciate any and all help. I just hope this little girl is able to pull through this.

Olivia started proton therapy yesterday and luckily since it's very targeted, she has been doing well so far. She has to do it for over a month, so we are hoping this at least helps and that she can get enrolled in a clinical trial out of NYU. That seems to be the best bet at this time.

I'll continue to post updates but thank you again for all those that have donated.:beerchug:

Hey guys, it's been a while since I posted an update as I was on vacation out of the country for the last 2.5 weeks.

Olivia is near the end of her proton therapy but they haven't done a follow up MRI yet to know what impact it has had. She is improving in walking and hand/foot movement and will be going to Disneyworld with her parents soon. After they get back from Disney they should be starting the clinical trial regimen, which has had promising results in glioma.

Also for those that may not have seen the updates on the GoFundMe, Liv's parents posted the following:

“Be thankful for today, because in one moment, your entire life can change.”

Our lives have been forever changed since Liv’s diagnosis. We are living just one day at a time and are trying to enjoy each moment. Brian and I cannot put into words how grateful we are for the amazing support we have received from our families, neighbors, colleagues, school and community. I wish we could thank everyone individually, please know every single thing is appreciated and has given us the opportunity to spend every minute with our fighter. As we continue down this journey we do not know what the future holds, but we are getting through this as a family and are holding on to hope. Liv has been so incredibly brave and has met each obstacle head on. She is such a special kid and truly amazes us every day.
