A lot of the major ones aren't happening because teams have been relegated, but major PL ones are these Everton -Liverpool Arsenal -Tottenham Liverpool - United Then you have others like Villa - Birmingham Newcastle - Sunderland Millwall - West Ham Southampton - Portsmouth
Start rooting for Brighton & Hove Albion. They will be in the EPL next year for the first time in something like 35 years. This way you won't be called a front-runner.
Look for the cheapest used jersey on eBay and make that your team. Also fox sports one has FA cup on now.
West Bromwich Albion imo. They've got some of the most creative players in the EPL and a manager world renowned for exciting soccer.
I would suggest Swansea but then you'd have to start enjoying the Championship next year and maybe get a taste of the PL again 35 years down the road.
Crystal Palace, Southampton, Newcastle, and Fulham (if they make it out of the playoffs) would be my suggestions for teams that have potential to be fun to follow and not be considered front-runners. The latter 2 have great fanbase representation here. The former both have comfortably consolidated their Prem status and shouldn't struggle to stay up in the coming years.
As someone who started randomly somewhere not all that long ago....I'd pay attention to the style a team plays and their history. Something will grab your attention and make it that much better. I couldn't imagine not following Swansea regardless of league status but the lack of europa or champions league appearances does suck at times. Also not having and spending money like the larger clubs can be frustrating or can be extremely rewarding. If you are someone who really wants European matches just deal with being a fan of a larger club it's honestly not that big of a deal. Or like above take a Southampton or Newcastle who could have he means to get there or even West Ham.
