I hate 8 am Sunday meetings.
No they are hiring pep Hamilton
Scott Frost to Sparky
Quite the eclectic list of candidates:
Anderson is expected to pursue Kevin Sumlin (assuming he is available), Michigan passing game coordinator Pep Hamilton, Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, and Vanderbilt head coach and Phoenix native Derek Mason, according to Wolken.
How do we know he's getting fired? Maybe they wanted to meet to discuss current event type things
At least let the guy sleep in a few hours
ASU will be the death of Kevin Sumlin’s liver. Nice hire if dump prognostications are correct.
It's nice that they gave him 12 hours to enjoy that Territorial Cup win.
This Is true
"Any intel on the ASU coaching search? I need to publish some rumors."
"Thanks. Got it."
Taking the sunburn factor out of the equation. That's some savvy AD'ing.
On one hand, 18-19 over the last 3 years is pretty bad with this year's high water mark of 7-5 in that stretch. On the other hand, he has the best record of any Post-WAC era ASU coach.
Also, this is ASU, 7-5 is about what we are historically. This is not a sleeping giant nor some program that should be expecting championships, so this kind of financially outlay is a big risk to get us more of the same, just in a different package
Sheriff Rodriguez claims another one.
Kevin Sumlin is good at changing expectations at schools imo
I’m investing in a bar on mill maybe they can get Sark as OC.
butch jones would do wonders at asu
Not on the list
Hey Todd.................................... chu want a job?
Sure. Thanks Tom.
The financial outlay is worth not having Todd Graham represent your university, even if the wins and losses don't change.
I was going to ask if there was friction with the AD or off the field stuff or something like that. Not that he was killing it but this seems like a pretty aggressive move for ASU to make if its purely win/loss related.
Imagine being a Zona fan right now. You lost the rivalry game yesterday and you’re keeping your coach.
graham and bert finally getting what they earned by losing to kliff kingsbury
graham lost to him TWICE
Football coaches don’t sleep
I'll miss his telemarketer-style head set
Maybe, but, and this won't be popular on the internet's, Todd did improve ASU a lot off the field. Better facilities, best graduation rate ever, very little in the way of arrest shenanigans. I'm not going to piss on his grave
Did you see Dick Rod's presser after the game? Spectacular, best part of the day
Yes. AD didn’t like Graham personally and has been waiting for his chance to fire him.
Lots of eye rolls and shoulder shrugs. Acted like my 3 year old.
Par for the course for rich rod
Vontaze in waiting
As much as I wanted him fired, I think Sumlin would be a great hire for ASU
Crazy that UCLA and ASU would make better hires than USC
We have tags for a reason
Does ASU really have higher aspirations than what Graham has delivered?
That’s embarrassing and I’m triggered
It's like this list was created specifically to taunt me as a Michigan/Lions fan.
Has he been officially fired?
He totally messed up clock management at end of half and had no understanding of it. They had ASU on the ropes and settled for a Hail Mary attempt after taking their time on three plays. It was weird. Tate took a huge shot on the Hail Mary and didn’t play much the rest of the game.
Apparently... Aspirations are nice and all, but feels like it was personal with the AD and Graham. It's not like the team was clearly on the way back up, but it's a shaky ground for ASU to be on. Firing a coach after 6 wins in conference is pretty bold for a middle of the road program
I’m going to miss Graham’s headset for real though
He stopped using the madonna mic a few years ago
This is the guy that turned down Alabama..., oh what could have been
Being a fired football coach would be so awesome
