Alfredo, Pray for Paris, UNLOCKED, RTJ4, The Price of Tea in China, A Written Testimony, Circles Flatbush Zombies next week. Spillage Village album dropping at some point. Hopefully we get JID and Kendrick albums before the year is up. Been one hell of a year
Hip hop is a hard profession to age gracefully in let alone excel in at an “advanced” age. Crazy what Killer Mike and El-P are doing.
A few words from the firing squad is a powerful song and a brilliant way to end a brilliant album all the way down to the skit at the end.
Andre 3000 always says it's a young man's game and there's a lot of truth to that. few if any hit their stride in their 40's. El-P had a ton of critically acclaimed work early on but I think it's safe to say this is the high point for both. I like how they're kind of a throwback in terms of the duo construction as well while staying modern and not being a knockoff. We don't have ton of groups like this nowadays and I would imagine they'll end up being viewed as one of the better ones historically in time.
Finally listened to RTJ4. They just continue to be on the top of their game every time. Mike hitting so hard with some of those verses, and El-P still producing his ass off. This duo is just overflowing with talent. I'm so glad they use their talents and platform to say something powerful rather than the typical mumble drug/money/bitches rap.
Just pre-ordered the vinyl + shirt combo. Won't get it til September, but now I have that to look forward to.
I just love Killer Mike's voice and style. Obviously his writing is top notch. Glad I got to see them at Lollapalooza a couple years ago.
I feel like I could say the same thing about 5 songs on that album. I was having a bit of an existential crisis over how much I was enjoying Alfredo so I went back through my fav Freddie albums. Fetti/Piñata/Bandanna. I’ve come to the conclusion that Piñata is an absolute insane experience and that Alfredo is better than the rest.
Freddie's run over the last 18 or so months is pretty wild. 4 great projects, the 2019 AOTY (imo), several strong guest spots and perhaps the best freestyle of 2019 as well. he's got the belt for me until Kendrick decides it's time to come back

Lotta good out right now. Knowing a new album is coming I like revisiting the old stuff before I listen to the new.
sitter texted me earlier asking what the hell song my son is talking about “jeremiah wants me to play a song about... slave masters..?”
truly a tear in the eye moment he likes a lot of the stuff i like, but he also vibes with some dogshit radio tunes that he hears with mom
Same with my daughter. She loves brockhampton and then it’s roddy rich and the like. Sent her a link to last words from the firing squad on release day and she sent me heart eyes emoji. Proud dad
I mean i just look at it as the TiKTok radio stuff. She gets into that stuff. Maybe Roddy is higher quality but it’s still in that realm
Roddy is pretty good. Has a lot of talent I also really like some of Brockhampton. They are pretty talented and very unique. Can be real hit or miss but they can have great songs. I like Saturation 1 and 2 a lot

My two favorite guys in the game rn are JID and Kendrick and those two are allergic to dropping albums
