Both Kanye and Drake's shit are mids. Arguing about which is better/worse is like arguing about a Civic vs a Corolla. If we're talking mainstream rap releases this year, Cole's album was better than both of them and Kendrick is gonna smoke some top 5s when he drops.
He’s also a gigantic fan of future. 3 stacks is everything to me. As a southern kid who loves OutKast he means the world to me but I don’t expect him to make me happy. I just want him to try
I don’t recommend it. There’s a track with jay electronica and the lox that I think is incredible but that’s mainly because I adore Jay Elec. Luckily, Life of the Party isn’t on the album
I get it's dumb coming from me, a guy with no albums, but I kinda don't get what's so hard for an artist like Andre. How does he not have like stacks of more verses out there
He’s got stuff I’m sure and he’s absolutely killed the features he’s been on over the years.. he’s been vocal about how uncomfortable it makes him that hip hop has put him on the pedestal they have and I just don’t think he’s as confident in his ability as we all are.. I’m grateful for everything he’s done and all the memories I have attached to his music.. I just want him to live a good life Kendrick on the other hand needs to get off his ass
I also think he is very meticulous with his verses and has commented on this in the past. Definitely quality over quantity
Also, I don’t hate Drake’s album. It’s not a complete throw away, but this feels like he had Jay-Z songs like Izzo (HOVA), Girls, Girls Girls or Change Clothes on repeat thru the quarantine.
I think when we say Drake is shit without appreciating what people like about him then it’s just hating. My issue is that I’ve heard this album from him before. It’s starting to feel like he’s stuck in this gear. Do I understand why folk like what he’s done with CLB? I absolutely do. I just think he needs to stay away from any legit discussion wrt the artist in the genre
Plus I still fault drake for the ghostwriter issue. You can’t be the best rapper in my mind if you’re not a lyricist. Maybe it’s more widespread than I ever want to know/admit but hip hop to me is about self expression and originality. How a dude gonna admit someone else wrote his words? Then turn around in the next line and chastise “biters”?
I listened to it right before I got outta the car from work this evening and I’m p sure my girl is about to kill me from being to hyped up
I dunno what it is but I can't fuck with the rappers with the voice of a bitch squealing in my ear. The girls have deeper voices smh.
top of the mornin top of the mornin top of the mornin top of the mornin let’s get this shit let’s get this shit let’s get this shit let’s get this shit
Just turned on The Melodic Blue Hoping he made a nice album to give me an artist to get excited about.
Is every good rapper supposed to be able to freestyle? Or are there some that are strictly think about it for a while? Seems almost like two different skillsets
