Seeing Andy on drums reminds me of when Alc was Eminem's tour DJ and what I would do for The Heart Pt. 5 to drop sometime soon
Oops just posted the paak thing in the superb owl thread Oh well. Stormed through Dilla Time this week, predictably. If anything I've been understating James Yancey's significance over the years. Read that shit.
I saw a small video from the author where he shows us how Dilla changed the way music is made. Not just rap/hip hop, music, all genres. Found it. https://youtube.com/shorts/j2VFEHLkZQI?feature=share
According to the festival's website (translated from Italian): "KENDRICK LAMAR returns to Italy with a super anticipated show which, produced and distributed by Vivo Concerti, will see him perform - after 8 years from his first performance in Italy, in 2014 - at the Milan Summer Festival on Thursday 23 June 2022, where he will play the pieces of the new album, long awaited by fans." https://milanosummerfestival.it/portfolio/kendrick-lamar-23-giugno-2022/ Doubt
I'm bout to spin this new Krit. Pretty dry Friday for hip hop..might have to traverse genres and check out that weirdo Oliver Trees album out
Kanye saying “I’m Roccafella and I’m Rawkus” makes me really think about all the producers who could’ve followed his path but decided against it. In the spirit of hip hop. There’s genuinely a moral high ground in hip hop that makes it so much better than it could be
Yeah if Im explaining him to someone that hasn’t heard him I describe him as a southern Kendrick. But sometimes I hear Wayne, like Just Da Other Day
Mine was a joke ftr playing on the fact he won’t drop music. That being said, I enjoy what he does a huge amount
No I agree. I’m a huge fan and his ability to go in and out of these specific syncopations and rapidly morph it around the beats is amazing. He’s just fucking fun but I hold KDot in huge, cultural regard. Like as an old ass nigga and someone who puts a premium on social awareness in verses and content, Kendrick is second to none.
You preaching to the choir here man. Kendrick is an album or two away from me calling him the greatest.
I just started listening to earthgang last album but god damnit I love their music. Waterboyz is a jam.
Conways album is good but it’s down the list for me when it comes to Griselda. I do very much appreciate his openness on this album tho. He reveals some things about himself and deals with some heavy stuff
I thought that aspect of the album was great too. Was surprised by it but thought it was very cool of him.
