What are some good history shows on Netflix? Preferably documentary style but suggestions accepted for historical dramas too. Just finished "Empire of the Tsars" with Lucy Worsley; she is an awesome presenter. Wish I could watch something else narrated by her. Watched some of Oliver Stone's new "Untold History of the US" last night; it was ok. It has his typical leftist slant obviously but it served to give me a history fix
Let me know if you agree about the presenter. By the end I felt like I could listen to her read the phone book; not sure if that was just me Re: Ken Burns, never taken the plunge on any of his but definitely wanted to. You say start with Prohibition over Baseball, Civil War, National Parks?
Civil War is really good too. I have not watched Baseball or National Parks yet. Prohibition is pretty short (3 eps) so it's a good one to start with to get a feel for him. There a few others from him on Netflix as well (one on the Roosevelts off the top of my head).
3 eps sound great. Wanted to watch baseball and civil war for a long time but they're just such an undertaking
Been watching Hitler on AHC Mini series on civil war battles starts on Wednesday https://www.google.com/amp/tvseries...nces-new-historical-series/amp/?client=safari
I don't know what kind of British accent she has (Wiki says she's from Reading ) but I would enjoy her presenting other things.
She (Lucy) has a lot that are easily accessible on YouTube. It's hard not to have an improved mood after watching one of her docs. Her lisp is quite delightful and the way she says "Charlotte" gets me everytime.
