with degrom and verlander signed, there isn’t an ace available free agency wise and i don’t know if we have the prospects to trade for one reynolds trade makes so much sense it seems too obvious but would guess vaughn is part of that package so still have the SS problem
count me as concerned if we are going into the season with Vaughn as an every day starter. i have seen many pitchers look better at the plate than he did against the Phillies.
I’m still waiting on Andrus to become the next ARod. I’m old enough to remember when Bill Shanks constantly made that comparison before Andrus was traded.
Rafael Belliard remains an option for Braves, his connection to the city is undeniable, the glove is still plus plus, and he could potentially be signed at veteran minimum.
I would guess Alex is trying to get Dansby down to that magic $22M number that all our big guys are at. 5/110 or something like that on a team with a shot every year for the next decade sounds better than 8/200 for a shitty squad but that’s just me.
Jimenez was incredibly frustrating/bad for 4 years. He was very good last year. If he can keep the walks and HR rates to last year levels, he's a good late innings piece. I'm somewhat skeptical of those things based on his history, but the talent is there.
So that makes the bullpen: Iglesias (R) Jimenez (R) McHugh (R) Yates (R) Nick Anderson (R) Minter (L) Lee (L) That's before we even mention Jesse Chavez or any of whatever they plan to do with Elder, Muller, Ynoa, etc.
Any idea how much cash is coming back? He only has one year of control. I guess we might try to extend?
Little bit weird that we trade our best internal potential LF when LF is far from settled. Hope something else is on the way
