Ozzie since August 1st: .235/.288/.469 But hey, Snit, keep trotting one of your best hitters out in a role he continues to struggle in.
all started with snit just meekly accepting the screw job on the riley replay like the absolute cuck he is
lou and i have already cancelled the season but if we lose this, loubias will (once again) be on the front line of innovation and cancel the entire franchise
the miracle mets continue their improbable run to the most impressive .500 record of all time magic number is 13
Quick! Now that he’s showing some promise again, let’s hold on to him so that his value drops off again.
Agree on Touki but I think it is a little early on Muller. I'd like to see Muller get the same amount of time in the majors Wright has been given. Even though Wright's career hasn't gone as we all had hoped, it is hard to give up on a top draft pick when they are still considered young. Wright has definitely trended as a bust, but he clearly has a lot of talent and potential that just might be coming along slower than expected.
It’s not as if Elder doesn’t deserve a shot. My only concern would be his workload. He’s pitched as many innings this year as he did his entire career at Texas. It’s by far the most innings he has put on his arm in a single season.
We're about to have so much pitching beating down the door. Obviously Charlie-Fried-Ian-Ynoa is the base you build around next year. Muller and apparently Bryce Elder are beating down the door to make their case to be #5. Touki, Tucker Davidson, and Kyle Wright, while they have struggled have had flashes (although I wish they'd just let Touki be a middle reliever and move Tucker into that Tomlin role where he just goes out there to throw strikes and eat innings and then occasionally get deployed situationally against lefties). And then you also have all these guys ready to come up in the next 1-3 seasons: Spencer Strider - 3.68 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and .190 avg against with 150 strikeouts in 93 innings across A, A+, and AA Jared Shuster - 4.44 ERA and 90 K and only 20 walks in 73 innings at A+ and AA Freddie Tarnok - 2.60 ERA and 61 Ks in 45 innings at AA this year Joey Estes - 2.91 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, .184 avg against with 127 K in 99 innings at A Darius Vines - 2.92 ERA with 129 K to 29 BB in 111 innings in A and A+, .203 avg against and 1.02 WHIP Also I want to see Indigo Diaz keep getting pushed with his 83 Ks in 45 innings.
Indigo Diaz has given up 3 runs in his last 3 innings (2 outings). These two outings are so bad they account for 50% of the earned runs (3), 100% of the home runs (1), and 12.5% of the walks (2) he's allowed all season and inflated his ERA from 0.64 to 1.20. That's absurd.
Now just move Ozzie to 5 and we are really cooking. Gotta take the small victories as they come though.
