what's the word on Acuna? remember hearing that he'd skyrocket when the updated 'spect lists came out.
Forgot him. I agree. I think he'll move fast next year being it'll be his second year removed from TJ surgery. Saw some a tweet saying he hit 96 and a gif of one of his nasty curveballs.
Speaking of which... Hank: Now that it’s just a blister for Max Fried, do you have any reports on him this year? Last few starts have been really good, walks are dropping. Klaw: Back up to 96, CB good, command improving, really just been rounding back into pre-injury form the last few starts.
If you have missed the bottom half of the 2nd inning of the Braves game tonight, consider yourself lucky.
The Barves are out Barvin ourselves tonight. We just hit into a triple play in the top of the third. Wow.
I think the odds had to be much better that we were no-hit by Sale than it was we'd have 3 HRs, 8 runs and 10 hits in less than 5 innings of baseball off of the guy.
I know there is a lot of Snitker displeasure in here but I haven't seen a Braves team with this kind of attitude since Bobby
I may be nuts, but I wouldn't mind giving him another year. If a big-name guy isn't out there, why not? And how attractive is the job right now? May be a lot more attractive when more of our young guys establish themselves and we pivot towards contention. Otherwise, whoever takes the job may be on the hot seat in 3 years if we haven't made the playoffs and we have an overall losing record. Snit has a lot of experience handling/developing young talent, which is the #1 thing we need in a manager right now.
We are hitting the fuck out of the ball right now. Big fan of this team. It's like the exact opposite of the past couple of years. Young/old guys trying to prove themselves instead of a bunch of overpaid complacent guys.
Also, I think Flowers had earned himself a shot at catching everyday. Saw that he's like 7th among catchers in wRC+.
He has been a fantastic addition this year. He's older but can hopefully buy us some time to find our long term answer
What's awesome about that is we're not forced to overpay for a veteran free agent catcher who will break down in the middle of the deal. Keep trying to land the catcher of the future in a trade, but if not, just sign a guy like Avila short term to backup Flowers. We could do a lot worse.
Albies hit a two run bomb tonight and is almost hitting .400 in AA. Honestly, I'm just kind of getting pissed off he's in AA. I don't understand the logic behind it.
Yeah, that's stupid. They don't need to demote Ozzie to a league he's clearly mastered to do that. And how long does that really take? How truly important is that? We've had a million different middle infield combos this year...
I'm in orange beach for the week and the M Braves are in Mobile. I'm hoping Dansby will be back with the team on Wednesday so I can catch him, Ozzie, and Newcomb .
There's really nothing wrong with it. They're both likely heading to AAA before too much longer. I imagine they'll both be September call ups, considering they're destined to be on the opening day roster next year for the new ball park.
Any of you guys see the play Chase just made going into the stands in left? I really hope he hits enough to stick around . Dude does everything else really well .
In the last 8 days this offensively challenged team put of 17 earned runs combined against Jose Fernandez and Chris Sale, both of whom are arguably top 5 starters in MLB. Not too shabby.
We've always been able to shell the Aces with some regularity while getting baffled by the AAAA pitcher.
Would love to know who has worked with Folty to get all that run on his fastball. It's diving in hard on righties, and away from lefties. Throwing 95-99mph consistently, then dropping off speed pitches in the high 70's - just filthy.
Going to assume this was Boston media because they are the worst David O'Brien @DOBrienAJC 46m46 minutes ago Awkward: Teheran at All-Star media session getting questions about his relationship with Frank Wren and whether he knows members of Red Sox.
"Julio, how would you feel about being traded to the Red Sox for let's say two mid-tier prospects and a utility-man? Do you think that's a reasonable return for your services?"
