that summer was the best. remember being convinced every time andruw came up that he would hit a bomb or gapper and by god he honestly did. never seen someone carry a team like that
Whoo at Mets helping us out too! Nats lose CUBS lose Diamondbacks down 12-1 Hopefully Marlins can walkoff vs Brewers
Back in the W column and back in first. Enjoy the break tomorrow and bring the fire again Friday. Need a series win going into the break.
It’s imposible for me to not have a huge smile on my face listening to an Albies interview. Guy is just so awesome.
i currently own zero baseball cards but i will have to consult an archaic entity to make a sweeping declaration on the normalcy of an entire fanbase tbd
Not many people know this, but his grandmother called him that, in his mother tongue (Papiamentu), when he was a wee lad. You're not gonna find that on a Topps card sonny.
Speaking of weird people calling athletes by nicknames, I just want to thank everyone here for the 60+ likes I've gotten for making fun of DBL in his "Shady" thread.
— The Braves want to add a starter, reliever and hitter, but the trade market is thin on controllable talent and GM Alex Anthopoulos is reluctant to trade prospects for rentals, according to major-league sources. Pitching is the Braves’ priority; offensively, they have no obvious holes. At third base, for example, their urgency to upgrade is not as pronounced as many expected — Johan Camargo is batting .256 with seven homers and a .790 OPS since the release of Jose Bautista on May 20. A right-handed hitter who could handle center field would figure to hold some appeal; Ender Inciarte entered Wednesday batting .208 with a .536 OPS in 108 plate appearances against lefties. Inciarte, however, offers stellar defense in center, and the Braves do not need help against lefties; their .804 OPS against lefties rank second in the majors only to the Yankees’ .838.
Wednesday's Stars Cristian Pache, OF, Braves. Pache hit his eighth home run of the season yesterday as part of a 2-for-4 day. Pache came into the year with zero career home runs and power was the biggest concern scouts had with him, so his newfound thump makes him an even better prospect.
saw a poll from a braves blogger that i figure would be a good argument itt you can only have one between pache and waters. who do you pick
just depends how much you value defense, their are more than 1 minor league analyst that says he would be a top 3 defensive CF in the majors if he's brought up this second. If that means a lot to you, then I would say Pache along with his offense improving this year no question about it. Waters has the advantage with the bat right now but by how much? I think its very close
Pache and Waters seem like nearly the same prospect. Put one in CF, one in RF, beefed up 50 HR Ronnie in LF and be legends Someone kill Ender
