You can look at rosters around the league and recognize the contenders and pretenders. Teams like NY, Boston, Cleveland, Houston, Chicago, LA have such great positional depth. They plug and play reserves without missing a beat. We’re a ways off from that. We need Riley, Pache/Waters, Contreras, etc to develop into starters before we can push guys like Johan and Zuk (if he’s still with the team) to the bench where they’re more valuable (and hopefully trade Ender at peak value).
The bench can obviously be improved, but not sure why people expect Atlanta in year one to have a comparable bench/depth to teams that have been trying to compete and building for multiple years.
Oakland DFA'd Santiago Casilla. He's had control issues this year, but he's still been solid. Worlds better than Moylan and Freeman. Would hope we give him a look.
Better late than never! We're facing a LHP today so this makes very good sense. Let's close with a win and regroup!
We’re just playing chess over here. We know how good that bullpen can be for Arizona. If we swing at the first pitch we will never get to their bullpen.
the outright refusal from anyone in this organization to acknowledge coppy is fucking gross and pathetic
Phils were up 5-0 on Marlins. All of a sudden the Marlins have scored six in the 5th and it's 6-5 Marlins with them still batting.
