My two big take aways were Ender, Dansby, Ozzie not necessarily being untouchable. And teams preferring Wright/Anderson/Wilson to Soroka and Touki. Varying levels of surprise there.
Levels of "don't care" to "please don't trade:" -Ender -Dansby -Ozzie and -Wilson -Wright -Soroka -Anderson -Touki
And also that he played in 158 games, hit 24 HR, and stole 14 bases as a 21 year old in his first full major league season.
there’s basically no chance david peralta doesn’t get traded right? what would reasonable compensation for him look like? Jeff Sullivan: I think there’s some chance — he’s in his 30s, he’s a non-elite corner outfielder, and there are only so many buyers right now with such a need. But he’d be a clear fit in, say, Atlanta. Maybe Arizona could come away with someone like Kolby Allard, but they might have to aim a tier lower depending on how many alternatives the Braves are looking at
I'm about to pick Kolby up and drive him to Arizona. Weather is going to be too shitty here for flights and I don't want anyone to change their minds.
I find that national writers have a super inflated view of Allard. I don't think they've seen him to know his velo is down.
That, and this thread also probably has a too-low opinion on him. There's a middle ground somewhere where his actual value lies.
I don't see how he succeeds ar the major league level without perfect command. All of his pitches look incredibly average.
I don't disagree to a large extent, but Kolby also had pretty much close to elite command for large amounts of time in the minors. Of course, that didn't present itself in his cup of coffee in ATL. Was that nerves, injury, something else? Who knows. But he's likely better than he showed while also not as good as national evaluators rate him.
Pederson and Puig for Inciarte, Teheran, Allard, Waters/Pache, one more? Going MLB The Show in here. Would still need an arm.
That's a terrible trade for us. Inciarte exponentially most valuable outfielder in the deal. And we are including a top 25 prospect and a guy in Allard with some value?
Dont get thr hype Around Joc. He hits way below average and doesn't have enough power/OBP to make up for it
Right. Half the years were premium slugging numbers and he's 26 and just put in his best year of his career. Dudes pretty good and significant slugging upgrade to everyone not named acuna of Freddie
Joc would be a great addition. Dude plays hard as hell and has lots of pop from the left side. Yes pls.
In one of those years, he still hit 26 bombs. Last year he hit 25 in only 443 PAs. For comparison, Kakes had 705 PAs last year.
Need to go hard after Puig/Pederson to help get Harper out of the NL east, too. Either of them would fit perfectly with what we need. I want Puig for the Antics and the [latin american? Island? Spanish?] trifecta
We'd also have 3 cfs in the outfield. Fits AA's emphasis on defense. Btw, Puig would be amazing as well.
I think Greinke is still a really good pitcher. Not worried about his age because he's already made an adjustment to pitch with diminished stuff. Getting out of that park would help a ton too. Now that contract.. Woof.
I would expect it to bounce back a little after a healthy offseason but yeah, he was pretty average last year.
I don’t think we would eat the whole contract. If we did, more power to Liberty Media as we wouldn’t have to give up much.
