Right. It'd be great that he'd still be on second, but the underlying issue would still need to be corrected.
. This. As long as everybody comes to the park clear headed tomorrow I wouldn’t be surprised if this prompts a torrid rest of the season. I looked at the rest of the schedule and this is all setting up for the 12-14 games straight against the Nats and Phil’s mid September being the decider. Have to be peaking then.
We're off tomorrow. That's a good thing hopefully for a number of reasons. Nats play the Pirates tomorrow. Nats are facing a bunch of trash pitching lately.
Didn't get to watch today but it was kind of weird getting an alert on my phone that acuna got pulled for loafing. I remember listening to Bobby pull andruw Jones for slacking on a fly ball back in the day.
Hech now has a higher fWAR as a Brave than Kakes this season. Nick just giving back so much on defense this year
last time vs the marlins this year usually am team “just win the series” but we really need a sweep here
Tobias and I are spending $10 each per series to lock in a series win for us you are welcome also please donate to my gofundme
With our remaining August schedule it’d be perfect to extend to a 7.5 game or greater lead heading into those 14 consecutive games against the nats and Phils in September.
Have to get fully healthy, having Hech and Ortega as defensive replacements in key situations in the playoffs will be fun
conservatively have 12-4 for us 11-4 for them magic number would be 17. just split the 4 game set against them in atlanta and it’s over
nats phils wild card to crush one fan base and then a ritual slaughter by the dodgers to crush the other would be nice
108 win pace since changing the thread title despite facing a top 2 AL team, the best team in the NL and the red hot mets #DBALB
I get really annoyed when Chip calls any and every homer a "no doubter", even the ones that just scrape over the wall. But now I realize that Chip legitimately thinks anything hit within 30 feet of the wall is going to be a homer so it actually makes sense.
I think we are going to be talking about yesterday's game for a long time. Rubber match against a team that has had our number for seemingly forever. Snitker deservedly benches Acuna and Ronnie owning up to it after the game. And the non name of all no names Rafe Ortega hits a game winning grand slam. Just a totally enjoyable day. Huge series win.
The thing that's really exciting about Waters doing that is that he still hasn't shown a lot of power yet and he projects to have a good bit. Will be exciting when that part of his game starts to come around a little bit more as well.
Sort of surprised we haven’t seen an uptick with the MLB ball. Would love to see him get his K rate down to 20% or less.
If the season ended today who do you think (in as non homerly outlook as possible) should win NL ROTY? I don't know how comparable WAR is between pitchers and hitters but I noticed that Soroka's (4.8) is higher than either Alonso (4.4) or Tatis Jr (4.2), but I know that chicks (and sports writers) dig the long ball so it's hard for me to imagine it not going to Alonso.
The same can be said about Saturday IMO. We chased a great pitcher in Ryu using back-to-back homers, the second of which has hit by Duvall the day after he got optioned to the minors and he comes right back and delivers big time filling in for Ender. Then the bullpen and Newk in particular rebounded from a horrible Friday performance and provided the first sign that they just might have their shit together. Just two huge wins that both come when our starters struggled badly but battled.
I saw some stills of Ortega’s trot around the bases. He’s got braces. #oneofus Apologize if size is big on desktop. I posted on mobile.
