Defense is as good as it has been according to the metrics. Arm appears to have faded some but the bat is the real issue right now. 44 wRC+
Yeah, this is all about having a legit backup CF now that Ender is hurt again. How's his speed play these days? I assume he's still fast as shit while undoubtedly having lost a step or two.
29.5 ft/s sprint speed 4th fastest among players with at least 100 competitive runs, 16th best average this year overall Faster than Ronnie (29.2) 18/23 on steals this season
Having the potential for a late-inning defensive lineup of Duvy, Hamilton, Rob in LF, CF, RF behind JD, Hech, Oz and FF is pretty salty.
I don’t thinks bryse is a major league starter unless he develops a third pitch but he’s certainly better than Allard and Matt freaking Wisler
Goddamn the Nats are scoring a dickload of runs. They're probably going to score 14+ for the 4th time in 5 games.
Yeah but it sounds true. And we almost did it against the Twins which should count for more than the trash baseball Pennsylvania is producing
They have faced maybe one good pitcher the last 7 games in Trevor Bauer and he's not what he was. They missed Castillo and Gray in the Reds series. They saw the Brewers who's entire starting staff is trash. The Pirates starting staff is trash. The Nats are good but they've done what they should against terrible pitching.
I’ll give credit to Liberty for the flexibility at the deadline and beyond. We actually added a decent chunk of change.
We got fortunate on the Gausman front. Even with the Hech and Hamilton deals were still saving around 500k.
Yea but they had plenty of time after his “plantar fasciitis” to let him work from the pen in AAA during his rehab. The whole imaginary third pitch bullshit seems like an organizational failure. He never should have been allowed to start again with two pitches.
I keep telling myself we can't pay a guy 10 million to experiment in the pen. But him striking out 6 in two prefect innings was an oh fuck moment.
