Then that's unfortunate because Dansby is lost. We've seen Dansby good at the plate from the end of March to early July this season and that's pretty much it over two seasons. His defense hasn't been that great either. He made two more errors today.
Give Dansby this week to figure it out. Play Hecky at second some and give Ozzie a rest. If Dansby keeps sucking ass then start Hecky game 1. This is 2017 Dansby bad and we don't need a black hole in the lineup, especially if we are entertaining the idea of bringing back Ender.
Went ahead and booked a room at the Renaissance for next Friday night. Is it reasonable to expect a day game Thursday and night game Friday?
I think Bowman nailed the playoff roster here https://www.mlb.com/news/braves-possible-playoff-roster
Having nothing to play for stinks and is great at same time. Just hope we can get things rolling again in about a week.
He's certainly not in the rotation and I can't see why he should have a spot at this point. He's pitched himself right out of consideration the last several starts. His last 11 1/3 IP he's given up 15 R, 13 ER, 14 H and 6 BB. There's no place for that on a postseason roster.
You can add Swarzak to the list also. He's toast. We're just weeding out the trash arms tonight. Works for me.
Could've used more Donaldson The time he gave the opposing dugout the shhhhh or the times he started walking to first about the moment the ball left the pitcher's hand because he knew they were pitching around him
It will be interesting to see how the Dook decision plays out. If he’s not on the roster, you’d have to think it’s because AA doesn’t trust Snit to not misuse him as he’s been really bad recently. No way Snit is voting to leave him off the roster.
Though there’s no way to prove it is causing these injuries, but I really wish Snit had given our regulars more rest throughout the season. Seeing guys breakdown physically at the end of the season is frustrating when you know we didn’t give them regular rest. Ronnie needs someone who will protect him from himself like many players. Sounds like this hip thing isn’t new (probably stems from his injury at first last year) and that he’s been playing through it. Not blaming Snit, just wish he’d actually followed through with the plan from spring training to rest guys more often.
All we can do at this point is rest these guys and hope that resting them gets them going again next week. These guys are getting more rest now than they have the last 6-7 months. A lot of guys need it. Hope it makes a difference. We have absolutely nothing left to play for these last four games. Rest our starters as much as possible. There is nothing to gain. I'm glad Tomlin started tonight. Rest our studs that carried us to these 96 wins.
Sure that’s all we can do at this point. Except to also say perhaps in retrospect Snit’s philosophy of “You’re my guy, you’re going to play” isn’t the best and that we shouldn’t have waited until the final week plus to get them rested. I’m not suggesting resting the guys now is bad. Just upset that this season is seemingly heading towards a disappointing finish with guys being hurt and/or struggling heading into October.
I get you and I'm just saying all we can do is rest them with what's left between now and the division series next week. Hope for the best.
Two hits tonight for him and Kakes. Think Kakes has a hit in 7 of the 9 games he's played in since coming back.... 13 hits in his last 9 games and this game isn't over yet. He's 2-2 tonight.
