Atlanta Braves
The Braves are not going to deal top outfield prospect Cristian Pache, but they might include former second-round pick outfielder Drew Waters. They won’t include top pitching prospects Ian Anderson or Kyle Wright, but they might relent on former second-round pick southpaw Kyle Muller. They definitely won’t put top catching prospect Shea Langeliers in the deal, but they might offer their next best catching prospect, William Contreras. Contreras is the younger brother of Cubs’ catcher Willson Contreras.

 

Why hasnt this deal been consummated yet?

 

I will drive Kyle Wright to Boston today if he is a part of a Mookie trade.

 

That's a ton for 1 season.

 

Waters is the only one that sucks, but I could live with it for a guy like Mookie. I am definitely good with shipping off Muller, Wright, or Contreras. We have to trade some of these pitching prospects. There just isn't room for all of them.

 

I'm ready to trade guys but ideally we'd get some control in return for 3ish top 100 prospects.

 

I usually agree but Mookie is good enough to justify it IMO. and he's not a Boras guy so who knows maybe we could extend him (damnit i feel stupid even typing that with our awful corporate ownership)

 

Maybe, but if you make that trade you are going all in on this season. We better spend big on a catcher and a couple pitchers.

Also, I don't know how good Contreras is, but you hate to trade a catcher with a reasonable chance to be a major leaguer. We've been a black hole there for so long.

Caratini is apparently good enough for the Cubs to trade Contreras. Would be pretty nice to have him right now.

 

I don't think we take Langeliers in the first round if we were confident in Contreras. He has a big name so I think he's more valuable as a trade piece.

 

Mookie is from Tennessee btw so there’s a decent chance he grew up a Barves fan
