I’m setting a low bar to temper my expectations. I just want him to be better defensively at this point.
Ender had 4 extra-base hits in 131 regular season PA’s last season. Pache had 2 extra-base hits in 25 postseason PA’s. Add in the defense, and this isn’t even a discussion.
IIRC, he put together some extended ABs, was surprised to see them. Yeah, the hits didn’t translate, but he wasn’t up there looking lost
there was one at bat in particular where he fouled off 4-5 pitches and took some close ones before finally striking out on a full count its obviously not gonna help the batting average but i think that approach in that situation for someone who was just then starting to play major league baseball was really, really impressive
I think we know what to expect from Pache. Low BA, low OBP but speed and pop with elite defense. For me, more of the pressure falls on Riley to hit. He can’t be down at 85-88 wRC+ like he has been in 2019 and 2020. Bottom of the order has absolutely no punch if that ends up being the case. If he can take a step forward though and be a league average or better hitter, then the lineup will fall into place.
No one wants ender, but celebrating he's better than ender as an every day player is a pretty low bar Yay he fould some off
I’m a pretty negative, critical person, but come on now. It’s been the peak of his professional career, the moment couldn’t have been bigger and while he didn’t hit like you wanted, he showed tons of poise. That’s something you can build on
I'm really excited about Pache but this all started about our line up being rock solid. We've got two hitters in Riley and Pache will will most likely hit below league average. So the back 3rd of our line up is possibly trash. Then, compounded is when Dansby hits 6 but has constant awful stretches and Oz at 4 who will probably get hurt and then hit 200 for a long stretch before being sent to the IL to get healthy. Oh and then every 3-4 days Alex Jackson will hit 130. Can Oz stay healthy? Can Bae be consistent vs swings of 300 and swings of 200? Can Riley actually hit? What's Pache's bat look like at 8? Love Bug but is he gonna hit 340 again? I think there's some valid reason as why all the projectors have is being 500
This statement is dumb. Pache showed pretty good plate discipline in the NLCS. Much better than Riley and Kakes
The answer to all of our problems is to get Jake Lamb on steroids and plug him into the five hole. I’m talking Brady Anderson inexplicably hitting 51 home runs roided out
He said it was hard to argue against his sample size in the playoffs where he hit 182. Bug Country and Tobby Kakes shouldn't be the bar. I'm still praying for BC though. His glove at 3rd has gotten better and he's gonna hit 280 with 49 dingers this year
I'm drinking beers and shit posting vs doing a stupid fucking decktm for work. We're going to win 1 more game than the Mets and win the East. Then we'll lose in the playoffs b/c that's what Atlanta does
I think it’s clear the FO is praying for BC too. They aren’t ready to write him off. Which is fine and I hope he figures it out. Because he really does have 30-40 homer potential and I agree his glove has turned into a plus. Of course I would love a trade for Ramirez or Bryant(two guys who I doubt are even actually available). But I don’t see AA doing that and I’m not going to sit here and hope for something I know won’t happen. Better to just hope Riley figures it out and not be pissed off all the time. We aren’t the dodgers but there are 25+ teams that would kill to have our roster.
I don't hate where we are, but we have some concerns which was the whole point. I mainly hate Liberty Media b/c we could be so much fucking better but we're cheap. Payroll I think is 30 million less than last year and we fucking made a profit of last season. It's bullshit.
Atlanta Braves extend contract of manager Brian Snitker The Atlanta Braves have extended the contract of manager Brian Snitker through the 2023 season with a club option for 2024, it was announced Friday. "I am thrilled that Brian will continue to lead our club on the field and in the clubhouse," Braves president and general manager Alex Anthopoulos said in a statement. "Three consecutive division titles speak to the impact of Brian and his staff, and we are pleased that he will continue to guide our club through 2023." The 65-year-old Snitker, in his 45th season with the organization, has a 353-317 record as a manager, which he took over full-time in October 2016. He guided the Braves to a 35-25 record during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, winning the National League East for the third consecutive season. He is the only mananger in franchise history to take the Braves to the postseason in three of his first four seasons.
WED told me that Liberty Media made money last year. Was he lying to us, or was he just being his normal idiot self?
When you guys question Liberty Media’s spending, ask yourselves this: Does Brayceleigh really deserve to go on spring break to the Rockies or would she rather ski the Swiss Alps?
The article says they had an operating loss before depreciation and amortization of ($49M), a difference of $103M from last year’s operating profit before depreciation and amortization of $54M.
I'm glad someone else can understand basic words and explain them to that moron. Yes, during the baseball season last year the braves turned a 2mm profit. Now remember that the Braves aren't a baseball organization, but a Real Estate company. That falling revenue is from the battery
Seems like Where Eagles Bitch should come to an understanding about what the Braves are, which is a small market team that won’t go on an offseason spending binge every year. The other option is to cheer for a different team like the Dodgers. He will pretend like he doesn’t get it though and bitch about things like Ender or the Braves not signing or trading for a player literally every day for the foreseeable future though. I don’t love it myself, but it’s MLB so no need to get so emotional and act like a psycho over it. Real shame. I ignore it, but it’s difficult to ignore the turbo shit positing.
Crazy how bitching about it for 4 years now hasn’t changed anything. Oh well, maybe if we all bitch more it will change things this season.
I'm excited about Pache. He showed promise during the postseason. At least it's better than Ender slapping a ground out/or striking out everytime.
The thing I'm worried about the most is Soroka's achilles. I'm really glad we picked up Morton, so we don't have to rush him. Bullpen could use another piece, like everyone has said.
Media market doesn’t always equal teams market size or maybe it does but that doesn’t matter as much as team payroll
Media markets dictate most teams biggest revenue generator, their individual TV deals. Ours isn't great and will increase in 2027, but the battery revenue helps offset that. But it's absolutely absurd to claim we're a small market team
