Soroka will qualify for league leaders in 2-3 starts depending on his innings the next 2. His current ERA is a full half run lower than the current mlb leader. Kid could be in the running to start the all-star game with another 4 dominant starts.
I think what I like is we're figuring out what everyone's role is and they're all settling in them. Got Acuna back in the leadoff spot, Soroka and Fried have more than settled into the rotation, Newcomb has become a weapon in the bullpen, and Lucas has done the job in the 9th. For awhile - more so with the staff - it seemed like we just had a lot of talent but we didn't know who fit where. The next round of tweaks I'd like to see is replacing some of Goat's playing time with Charlie's, keeping Riley as the starting LF even with Endie back, and letting Touki stay in the longman/spot starter role. I think we might also have to go with a lineup of Acuna-JD-Free-Riley-Kakes-Albies-McCann/Flow-Swanson.

Why do last season’s stats at leadoff matter for this season? The better he does, the worse this looks for him at leadoff. There is nobody on baseball that agrees that a top 2 hitter with top 2 power on a baseball team should bat lead off. It’s the same thing as saying Freddie should bat lead off - he would produce there, sure. It’s just not optimal for the overall lineup. Just let it go and move on with your sad lives that are mostly spent on this message board.

This is funny and all... but you probably don’t have plans and you do actually do this shit every day lately. If you like him at leadoff fine. I really don’t care. You shouldn’t care what I think that much. When I said that at the time it was based on common sense that we would be leaving runs on the table over the course of a season. I see no evidence that is wrong and there is no data over the course of him batting clean up to compare so it’s all hypothetical. I actually see a lot of evidence lately that he is hitting solo home runs, which is exactly the situation I pointed to for why it wasn’t ideal. He would put up numbers batting literally anywhere in the lineup - I have said over and over again i’m fine with leaving him there bc he does well and we don’t know anyone else aside from Markakis that would be an option. Literally like 4-5 times now. Ozzie sucks at the moment so at the time it was a good move for the team. That discussion was before the season though. Some of you have obviously carried it around with you and you need to get some sort of satisfaction from your perceived victory over a complete stranger. It’s sad and weird. Move on.

Agree, best stadium I've ever been to and the game I saw in July it was very cold after the sun went down. Still a great experience although the Braves lost (bullpen blew the game, even back in 2006!) I'm taking my boys to Petco and Dodger Stadium in July.
